Trump losing is bad for AOC. She doesn’t have a path to run for President in 2024 without mounting a primary challenge to an incumbent.
It’s good for any potential Republican candidate who isn’t Mike Pence, since he won’t have a springboard to run as a Trump third term. So Cruz, Rubio, etc. It also gives any Republican an incumbent with a record to run against.
The GOP Senate majority, if it holds, is a strong firewall against any of the radical Harris/Sanders/AOC+3 policies. Expanding the SCOTUS is off the table. Which secures one of Trump’s greatest legacies, three justices appointed in one term.
It’s unlikely a conservative justice will pass away or retire in the next few years. Stephen Breyer is a big possibility given he’s only 5 years younger than Ginsburg was, but at least that would only be replacing a liberal with a liberal.
Overall, the GOP itself performed slightly better than Trump in this election. So that potentially bodes well for mid-term pick-ups in 2022. Biden may be inclined to govern more as a moderate in order to avoid the mid-term shellacking that Clinton and Obama suffered.
The big uncertainty for the GOP is how to keep appealing to the people that Trump brought in. They were attracted to Trump as a person, his status as a political outsider and his “reform party”-style agenda. They need to find a way to stay on the side of those voters and keep their loyalty.
A government of the elitists, by the elitists, for the elitists shall not parish from the earth.

Great opinion piece by a great columnist. Trump deserves a break, but if they steal this thing I would love to see him stay very involved in politics and retire Pelosi as speaker in 2022. He could do that. The anger will still be very real in 2022 for everyone.

The only silver lining would be a set up for another ass-kicking midterm. But the Senate map is not great and redistricting is up in the air.
Biden received more votes than Barack Hussein Obama did either time and couldn’t get more than a handful of people to show up at his rallies?

POTUS needed to follow the Florida coalition that was build down there with the governor and little rubio.
POTUS, instead of pissing around with black felons he was never going to get a lot of black votes, he needed to be focused on the America First Family First thing they pushed in Florida to get all those Hispanics on our side.

When you say a “Blue State”, what you’re saying is the majority of our fellow Americans willingly voted for a criminal who has used the power of the US Govmt to shake down nations for his own pocket, who endorses illegal substance use and abuse among family members and in his own home, as well as pedophilia.
We are a better nation than that. A “Blue State” is one who’s electoral processes have been so gradually, incrementally, and thoroughly corrupted in ALL its forms that the residents have been conditioned to accept that their American ideals are a minority among a sea of fraudulent socialists. None ever think twice after thirty five years, of carefully and critically policing the voting process using contemporary digital tools.
What I find FAR easier to believe, is that as of Reagan’s a$%-kicking in 1984 the small number of American socialists began a program of gradually organized corruption of the Federal Elections that has proceeded incrementally across the country relatively unimpeded-and that in this election, in their brazenness, now they have attempted to extend this process into the remaining relatively un-corrupted states.
The American Left KNOWS 21st century digital balloting is coming and that when it does all this is exposed.
I believe the Republic is over. We do not have a population any more that understands or supports feedom, initiative, enrepreneurialism. We have allowed our schools from kindergarten to grad school become the propaganda fiefdom of the communists among us. There is zero understanding or knowledge of history or related studies in the younger half of the population. They ave no reason to not believe when the Left promises them equality and unicorns. They will never connect the end of energy production with poverty and depression. Failing economy become the fault of Wreckers and Enemies of the People who must be fereted out and punished.
