I am just not buying this. I moved to Georgia from Nebraska. You guys have no idea what I just had to go through to prove residency and get my valid GA driver’s license. Seriously, it was very strict.
And you cannot vote here without a CURRENT valid Georgia ID. So what am I missing here?
It is why I was so stressed because I had to request specific documents from Nebraska because they wouldn’t even accept my birth certificate in the form I had it. They wouldn’t confirm my name is my name! I literally had to order my marriage license from 1982, even though, unfortunately, I am recently divorced. I even had my SS original card with MY LEGAL NAME but they would not accept it without all these other documents.
It literally took me THREE trips to the DDS for ID. ONLY THEN would I have been allowed to vote here legally or request an absentee ballot. Oh and you must submit proof of address and that was also very stressful. They wouldn’t even take my government check with address from the Covid relief.
I’m serious!

I wouldn’t put it past them to try, but I don’t how it’s feasible. Is there a lot of surplus temporary housing in Georgia, or will hotels just do very well for a couple of days?
This is why things will eventually go very bad in this country. We have people who have no respect for the law, for other people’s rights and freedoms, even for the right of the people of a state to elect their own government. All they care about is seizing power. Any American who is worthy of the name cannot let that stand.

This literally just happened. I was freaking out because I knew I had a deadline of Oct 5 to be registered to vote. There was no way I’d miss this election! I think I finally got my ID towards the end of September.
There are Real ID laws and they are strict.
In addition, I was required to show that ID in person voting. And they looked me up. I was a quite impressed because I never had to show ID in Nebraska.
I’m outside of Atlanta metro but still this is GA. I believe lots of fraud went in in Atlanta. Guaranteed. By cheating mechanisms.
There was a consent agreement between the Republican Secretary of State and the Democrats who sued Georgia agreeing to relax Georgia’s voter integrity laws.
The Republicans need to sue. Only the legislature can make the laws wrt voting. They need to insist on a re-vote with the normal integrity rules in place.
Can we just beat the DEMS with their game? Pretend to be on their side, get them to pay for our move and then vote R!

Simple solution. Gov Kemp just bans people moving to GA for a month, “COVID,” so no newcomer registrations. Need not start any other Covid restrictions to burden current residents.
