Earth’s orbit is eccentric, meaning it has changed repeatedly over time. This is just one of eleven solar cycles that affect temperatures on the earth. The radiation from the Sun, our position in the galaxy, and the cycles associated with the concomitant positioning far outweigh effects created by manmade pollution. Comparing the relative heat generated by man to the heat received from extraterrestrial sources is like pissing in the ocean, it has no effect. Human made heat pollution is the great green lie. In fact, in accordance with known weather cycles going back millions of years we are on the precipice of a slide into a long glacial period.

Then there is the Saturn theory (which isn’t as cray as it sounds) that long ago the Earth and Mars, then later Venus were moons of Saturn, but some thing very big (like a valence change on the atomic scale - {part of the Electric Universe theory}) happened expelling the gas giants further out of the solar system and stripping the moons Earth, Venus and Mars, which moved into their present orbits (see I. Velikovsky).
Its during this period, there were Ice Ages before the earth settled into its present orbit. That theory does account for why the Moon and Mars both have one heavily cratered side and one relatively smooth side, as well as the formation of the asteroid belt.
Please do not shoot the messenger - I’m just putting this out there. There is another interesting bit - when looking at other star systems, all the planets so far discovered are relatively close to their sun, not spread out like ours.
Also the present solar theory is firmly grounded in Gradualism - no sudden changes anywhere in any aspect.
