Things seem to be working backwards at The Commons on St. Anthony nursing home in Auburn, New York. Vaccinating people is supposed to reduce or end coronavirus deaths. Right? But, at The Commons, such deaths are reported to have occurred only after residents began receiving coronavirus vaccinations.
James T. Mulder wrote Saturday at syracuse.com that until December 29 there had been no coronavirus deaths at The Commons. December 29, when deaths of residents with coronavirus began occurring at The Commons, is also, Mulder’s article discloses, seven days days after the nursing home began giving coronavirus vaccinations to residents, with 80 percent of residents so far having been vaccinated.
Over a period of less than two weeks since December 29, Mulder relates that 24 coronavirus-infected residents at the 300-bed nursing home have died.

This is the penultimate paragraph of Mulder’s article, where vaccinations at The Commons is mentioned:
The nursing home began vaccinating residents Dec. 22. So far 193 residents, or 80%, and 113 employees, or less than half the staff, have been vaccinated. The nursing home plans to do more vaccinations Jan. 12.

Coronavirus Death Rate AFTER vaccination: 18%
If my math is correct, you are 90 X more likely to die of Coronavirus AFTER taking the vaccine, than before taking the vaccine.
Any ideas on why?
My 88 yo mother got vacinated on Saturday. She has been sick and feels awful ever since.
Yeah, that obviously doesn’t mean these two events are not connected.
Math sucks. It always seems to tell us what we don’t want to hear. Like the US death rate and numbers being the same in 2020 as 2019 and 2018

Missing data points in this. For instance, did these people have symptoms? Does the test used pick up the RNA sequence used in the vaccine and indicate positive because if this? What is this death rate, and what is the normal death rate at this facility. Obviously, if you have a facility packed with 80 and 90 year olds, there are GOING to be deaths, regardless of cause.
I just detest sensationalist reporting and brainless people who don’t think critically puking it out all over the place.
My mom is 88 too and based on this alone I would not advise her to get the vaccine.
possibility 1 - staff reduced their cleaning / PPE protocols once the vaccine was widely administered
Possibility 2 - the vaccine creates a yet undocumented response that can trigger other underlying conditions to worsen

What are statistics from other nursing homes? I know my county vaccinated people in nursing homes several weeks ago and I haven’t read about any big Covid surges in these nursing homes. If other nursing homes aren’t experiencing Covid surges after vaccinations, it would seem some other factor is at play - like residents were exposed to Covid by an asymptomatic staff member around the time of the vaccinations.
The report doesn’t say that there were zero deaths at the Commons. It is specific: there were zero Caronavirus deaths prior to vaccinations.
Perhaps you could call the Auburn, New York nursing facility? They reported this information, and they may be able to provide the details you are requesting. That is, if they are healthy enough and are not puking everywhere.
possibility 3 - anomaly?
You may want to pop over to the other thread where an actual doctor on FR stated what the actual likely cause of death was in that case and how unlikely it was that it was related to the vaccine.
Even so, a full investigation will take place. And if it happens that it was as a result of the vaccine, it would be the first death from the vaccine out of 29 million vaccine doses given so far. The Infection Fatality Ratio for COVID-19 is 0.65%, or 1 in 154 chance of death. If the death you’re trying to pin on the vaccine actually was from the vaccine, then the risk of death goes from 0 to 1 in 29 million.
1 in 154 for the disease
1 in 29,000,000 for the vaccine (assuming that death had anything to do with the vaccine)
Concluding that that is the cause is the fallacy, but it most assuredly indicates where you should start investigating...
