Book Burning, Name Calling, And The Democrats Praetorian Guard

When Barack Obama ran in 2008, I was virulently opposed to his candidacy. I wasn’t a huge McCain fan, but at least I knew he had America’s best interests at heart, something I never felt about Obama. Four years later I had issues with Romney, but for similar reasons, I voted for him.

Once Obama was in office, I disagreed with almost everything he did for eight years, whether Obamacare, DACA, GM, DADT, or virtually everything race-related. I disagreed with his trading for Bowie Bergdahl, his pardon of Chelsea Manning, and his commutation of the sentence of FLAN terrorist Oscar Lopez Rivera. I disagreed with his signing the Paris Climate Agreement, the Iran deal, and his servile posture towards China. I disagreed with his policies on housing, on education, and on energy. Essentially, there was nothing I agreed with Barack Obama on. He could have been Chinese or Italian or Jewish or Klingon…I didn’t care. I thought everything he did was simply wrong.

But a funny thing happened on the way to Obama’s inauguration: Apparently, I magically transformed into a racist. Who knew?

Somehow, because Barack Obama was black, my fundamental differences with Democrat policies made me a racist. Never mind that I would have disagreed with the exact same policies had they come from Biden or Kerry or Clinton. No, suddenly it’s wasn’t my opinions or my actions that made me a racist, but my opposition to a black president’s policies.

It was unimportant that I believe the smartest man in America is Thomas Sowell, a black man. Or that I think Justice Thomas is one of the most brilliant men ever to sit on the Supreme Court. Or the fact that one of the most respected men in my life personally was a black man.

I wasn't opposed to his candidacy. I figured he had no chance, why bother. One of many times I predicted wrongly who would win a nomination or election. In fact the only time I remember getting it right was Bill Clinton in 92. This wasn't supporting btw, just “prognosticating”.

Excerpt:
With the cancel culture seeking to keep Trump supporters out of colleges and jobs, and quashing publishing contracts, you have the modern equivalent of book burning. What’s more, the authors and supporters of such unapproved content will be figuratively stoned in the public square until they surrender their minds to the majority.

Which is, in part, why I’ll never publish

Just remember Disraeli’s dictum -“Never complain, never explain”. Racist doesn’t mean racist anymore, it’s an all-purpose accusation for anyone who doesn’t fall into line with the entire race/ gender agenda of extortion.

I despise arrogant pos former occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I never considered him president, or that Idiot Biden. And neither will I consider that witch Camelface Harris my president if she becomes president.

Myself-human race first, sub-category Caucasian. It is a fact, and I’m not ashamed of it by any means.

But those things ARE unimportant, at least in the context the writer proposes.

It would not matter if EVERY OTHER BLACK MAN IN AMERICA was your personal friend, was exceptionally wise, competed annually for the title of "the smartest man in America", as long as you thought the Obama regime was a bad one.

Thinking Thomas Sowell is the smartest man in America (a bit de trop, no?) and using it to defend your entirely appropriate and correct analysis of Obama - what can you say about that? You are confused? You are intellectually weak? You are trying not to be called "racist", even though you know that's inevitable?

Hence Disraeli’s dictum. Trying to explain to these fascists merely makes you appear defensive.

Every time I think of words manipulating people, I think 1984 and Newthink, or redefining words to mean something they don’t, like gender.

The author was deluding himself.
McCain was fully committed to the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA)

I never knew I was a racist until Donald Trump became president. Growing up, I had a Puerto Rican friend and a black friend (my neighborhood was mostly white, but when the apartment complex got built, I met others including my first friend of a single dad.

Quit letting the word Racist bother you at all. It is the only weapon they have left.
