Sen. Joe Manchin threatened to block President Biden’s climate change and infrastructure package unless Republicans have more of a voice in the negotiation process than they did with the coronavirus stimulus bill.
Manchin, a moderate Democrat from West Virginia who has emerged as a critical swing vote in the narrowly divided Senate, said he would use his position as chairman of the Senate Energy Committee to hold up the legislation unless the GOP has input.

Manchin needs to seriously consider switching party’s like his West VA Governor did. Sooner or later the Democrats are going to try and get revenge for his strong arm tactics against their agenda. ,

I think Manchin was sent out to try to provide cover. Manchin is the pretend individualist for the Dems. Manchin makes noises like he goes his own way, but always does as his masters tell him.
The Dems are taking on a lot, and at some point, the Dems fear even the stupid American public will begin to notice some kind of cause and effect. So, have Manchin go out and “force” collaboration. That why, the Reps can be blamed too.

Manchin is the Democrat version of Mitt Romney, but with a lot more clout. He won’t do much to actually stop the Democrats, but it’ll be fun watching him annoy them a bit.
Manchin is the Dem’s Willard and Murkowski and Collins all rolled into one guy. Changing parties will diminish his relevance. He’d be nuts to change.
In the end, Democrats always stick together in spite of threats. They are smarter in this way then Republicans, the stupid party.
It is NOT a $1.8 B (billion) Covid Bill. It is a $1.8 T (trillion) bill. One trillion is one thousand billions. One trillion is one million millions. The Dems can give $500,000,000 to to 2.4 million different Solyndras.
