WTF is Abbott babbling about? Gab is a social media platform with far less censorship than Twitter. It allows people to say what they want - the essence of free speech is the ability to say things that offend. Free speech is not needed to say inoffensive things that everyone agrees with. If you don’t like what someone says, use your free speech rights to rebut them, argue with them, show them why they’re stupid. Don’t try to keep them from speaking like a fascist. Abbott is a censoring moron, no better than the left-wing book burners.

Yeah, this appears to be a case of not knowing what the heck he is talking about. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and plenty of other sites have volumes more antisemitism and racism; it’s just better hidden given the volumes of users and those sites have “policies” however poorly enforced. Gab is a refuge for people disgruntled by or removed from other platforms. It may have a higher proportion of “off-color” remarks and even real racism relative to the size of the user base, but that comes with more freedom of speech and thought.
Bad ideas are destroyed by the market of ideas. Suppression and censorship only drives bad ideas into a black market.
