The article skims over a few modern weapons in development.
3 grids, not 1.
And for all of the problems in Texas last month the grid did not fail. Failure of the grid (any of them) require replacing parts/equipment that would take months.
Our military forces, bar none, have the capacity to destroy any nation that rises up against us but for one problem . . . it takes command codes to launch which will be rendered useless by a well-placed EMP attack - pretty much, I think, reducing us to the level of neanderthals throwing rocks and spears.
they have hardened systems
way more able to handle emp than non-military systems
“Starfish Prime was a high-altitude nuclear test conducted by the United States...at an altitude of 250 miles”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starfish_Prime
If you really wanted to ‘destroy’ some country....an EMP situation could wipe out power and civilization for months, if not years. If you just targeted California alone...getting back to ‘normal’ would be a five-year crisis, and unleash twenty-million refugees to the remaining 49 states.
I wouldn’t waste a nickel on nukes...I’d develop my entire strategy on EMP weapons/warfare.
The idea of an EMP weapon that can wipe out the electrical grid of a country the size of America is Hollywood fantasy. Anything strong enough to cause a surge that large would have first order effects much more catastrophic than electrical outages. That said, just like zombie apocalypse scenarios, the practical concept is more valuable than the exact scenario of how it happens. Being segmented from central command nodes and electrical connectivity is a real threat for the country. There isn’t nearly enough resiliency built into the system, logistics aren’t in place to quickly recover from massive outages, and the system itself is becoming dangerously aged in many places. Nearly all of cloud computing is based on the idea of steady network connections (it doesn’t have to be, but in practice, nobody wants to pay for redundancy). If funding gets through to address these weaknesses because a senator watched a movie about EMP blasts and got spooked, I’m ok with it.
“...Trump moved to protect the US from the emerging threat of EMP attacks with an executive order issued in 2019.”
Yeah - just wait until Biden finds out about this one.
“This order by Trump only inflamed the tensions already increased due to his nasty twitter tweets. It also gave an unfair advantage over folks that mean us no harm - namely China. In the interest of world peace I will revoke this order as soon as China pays - um as soon as possible.
I’d use a virus of some sort. Maybe a test virus and see how countries react to it, and then a REAL bad one.
The only people who do not know this are journalists, Democrats, and other such equivalent morons.
Uh... why wasn’t TARP money spent on this and asteroid defense and rebuilding infrastructure, etc. instead of bailing out the banksters?
Before launching the virus, I would encourage women and gays and trannies to feel comfortable to join all branches of the military and mix about with everyone else to increase the chances of whatever virus is introduces spreads quickly and thoroughly.
Thank You Trump!!!
Question why world women and LGBT people spread a virus more than straight males when given identical proximity and viral.transmission vectors? I’m keenly interested in the science behind that hypothesis. I served 11 years 2 plus 8 plus year of involuntary stoploss. This was during don’t ask don’t tell. Some of my most loyal and hard charging troopers were LGB obviously didn’t have any open Ts it’s a disservice to patriots to think there are not LGB that love this country and can and do pick up arms to defend her, certainly more than most of the keyboard cowards whining all the time but unwilling to pick up a rifle and do something for the country.
Not even close to being true.
Wait until people find out the iPhone got fried. They’ll be crying out for war.
not really new.
Already done. Biden overturned Trump’s E.O. about China’s ability to provide parts for the U.S. grid.
Very interesting post and thread. Thanks. BUMP!
“Wait until people find out the iPhone got fried.”
Human powered treadmill windmills and smoke signals. It’s the only way. : )
