President Biden on Monday urged state and local officials to reconsider lifting their coronavirus restrictions and to reinstate mask mandates that have lapsed as the U.S. faces an increase in cases.
"I'm reiterating my call for every governor, mayor and local leader to maintain and reinstate the mask mandate," Biden said at an event intended to highlight the rapid increase in vaccine eligibility. "Please, this is not politics. Reinstate the mandate if you let it down.
Asked later if some states should pause reopening efforts, Biden said "yes."

In the blue part of Ohio, the masking is still strong. Many here are sure that the numbers are down because the good little drones masked up.
What else did you expect from a bunch of egomanics running this country. Despots have to be shot and dragged thru the streets to stop them. the states can’t open up without Washington’s permission, it will set federal government back 20 years of progressive policy’s. Dc cant allow independent states. thats what started the civil war..

Ha-ha. Indiana governor has already repealed mask mandates as of 4/6. He’s always been pretty conservative on this.
There’s no evidence masking does a lick of good.
For me, with my full beard, everyone knows a surgical mask is no protection at all.
But it’s mandated.
Logically cutting down on contacts could help some- if you only risk half the number of possible exposures then your risk of being exposed is reduced.
But what’s the risk? Unless there’s some special reason to avoid the bug like age, frailty in yourself or your contacts why bother?
And with a form of ‘herd i9mmunity’ evident now this emphasis is more senseless than ever.
