In a Thursday interview on MSNBC’s “Stephanie Ruhle Reports,” Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg discussed President Joe Biden’s $2 trillion infrastructure plan.
Host Stephanie Ruhle asked Buttigieg if he is “prepared” for Republicans to run against the tax hike being necessary to pay for the massive plan.

Any cost of doing business is paid for by the profit of sales. If you are selling anything and are not accounting for taxes then you are going to fail at doing business.

Well the opposition should argue against tax hikes and actually make the opposite argument - that workers are paying too much and their rates should be phased down to zero. It is immoral to tax a person’s labor which is used to provide “infrastructure” such as roofs, doors, electricity, food, medicine and clothes for themselves and their families.
But moreover, they should argue about the corruption and waste and inefficiencies that all this spending will result in. Even most people on the left understand that a huge percentage of this money will just end up being “stolen”. Get out of this “2 sides” logical trap. There are always more than just 2 sides when it comes to politics and money.

The “wealthy’ already pay a higher percentage of taxes income than the rest of us.
Corporations don’t pay taxes. They collect them. From us.
We have an Alternative Minimum Tax - how about an Alternative Maximum Tax? The maximum amount that the government is able to tax income.
I find that the VAST majority of those that say that the rich don’t pay their fair share, have no idea of the actual tax rate the rich pay. Often when pushed for a maximum rate, the response is a number that is lower than the current maximum tax rate.

‘Tax the rich corporations’ always plays well with the uninformed. Anyone who has ever run a business knows that they will simply raise their prices to cover the additional expense. The poor and middle class consumers pay all taxes.
