Sen. Raphael Warnock, who once served as senior pastor at the Atlanta church where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. preached, deleted a tweet on Easter Sunday after critics blasted him as a “heretic.”
Warnock claimed people are able to “save” themselves through good works.
“The meaning of Easter is more transcendent than the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whether you are Christian or not, through a commitment to helping others we are able to save ourselves,” he said in the now-deleted tweet.
Attorney Jenna Ellis and others pointed out the remarks were "heresy."
“This is a false gospel and heresy. We cannot save ourselves,” she commented. “The absolute truth and only meaning of Easter that matters is the literal, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we must accept Him as Lord and Savior. Read Romans, “Reverend” Warnock. You are a false teacher.”
The College Republicans at Georgia State University gave Warnock a refresher from Ephesians 2:8-10: “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them[.]”
Others pointed out he attended Union Theological Seminary, which has been criticized as a "bastion of liberal theology."
Nah, He knows and I think he’s made his choice and has sought instead to climb the stairs with elites....he was an easy touch.

His real name is Rev. Warlock. A “false prophet”, con-artist and leftist.
And now you know the truth!
Thanks! That explains a lot.
So I guess this idiot thinks we didn’t need Jesus after all?
The belief that a good life can be had through personal effort is the cornerstone of atheism.
Yup. That’s heresy.
All these wokesters don’t even know how to fake piety any more, that’s how far down the path to perdition they are.
Not a phrase in the bible. In fact, not even a biblical phrase.
If anything, God helps those who CANNOT help themselves. Like the widow who lived with Elijah. Like the only sick person Jesus healed at the pool of Siloam.
Well, that’s at least one person I won’t be meeting in heaven.
