Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg declared “there is racism physically built” into U.S. infrastructure during a Tuesday interview addressing President Joe Biden’s $2.25 trillion infrastructure proposal.
Speaking to TheGrio, Buttigieg argued that some highways and bridges across several cities were designed to divide communities by race.

What a jerk. OK it may be true that race played a factor into the decision as to where to place some highways etc. So what? Destroying them now is a complete waste of time and money. People move, for all kinds of reasons. A highway dividing a city won’t stop them it’s not a wall it will actually help them move. That money would be much better served actually helping people in real need instead of lining the pockets of today’s crop of racist politicians, their developer contributors and politically connected lobbyists of all stripes.

Since Eisenhower created the Interstate highway system, the insane leftist zombies will have to tear down all his statues, eliminate schools and other buildings named after him, and rewrite all the history books so they refer to him as a white racist.
Maybe they can replace them with the name of an example of tolerance and diversity like Malcolm X.

I don’t doubt that some of the interstates bisected low income neighborhoods. I 71 into Cleveland did, although the neighborhoods were white ethnic. I 90 largely bypassed the black “slums” on the east side, choosing to follow the Lake Erie shore. I 480 bypass cut through white blue collar neighborhoods. If people want to reconnect these neighborhoods with walkways, parkways or whatever, fine by me. But the simple fact is that the most direct route for these highways typically cut straight through interminable close in suburbs in order to get to the central city. Race had nothing to do with it.
I am so sick of this nonsense. I refuse to play their game. Period.
