Trump Endorses Wright in Texas’ Special Congressional Election

Former President Donald Trump has finally weighed in on the special election race in Texas’ 6th congressional district and has endorsed Susan Wright, widow of former Rep. Ron White who passed away earlier this year.

It was already etched in stone that Susan Wright would seek to replace her late-husband Rep. Ron Wright (R) in Congress long before he passed away this past winter — Rep.Wright was terminally ill with cancer and his family and consultants were hoping that he would make it past the 2020 election and buy them more time to mount a campaign for Mrs. Wright.

Now, with the May 1st special election just days away, President Trump’s endorsement could be lights out for the field of 24 congressional candidates vying to replace Rep. Wright

It’s too bad that Trump’s judgment of people is probably the most questionable thing about him.

I think he will be able to swing elections for a while, and it would be nice to know that they are swinging in the right direction.

You would think that a successful businessman would see through people like a gamma ray, but not President-in-absentia Trump. Tillerson? Maddog? Mooch? And dozens more!

I hear you! His worst endorsement was that arse Mitt Romney in 2018. But I will cut Trump some slack because his first instinct is to try to get along with people.

That's not necessarily a bad thing in the real world, but in the bubble of the political sewer, it can be.

What is your problem with Susan Wright then?
President Trump will be able to swing Republican elections for as long as he wants.

Those vote-the-wife campaigns can be very tricky. Sometimes wifey isn’t as conservative as hubby was, particularly on “women’s issues”.

“Susan Wright will be a terrific Congresswoman (TX-06) for the Great State of Texas. She is the wife of the late Congressman Ron Wright, who has always been supportive of our America First Policies. Susan will be strong on the Border, Crime, Pro-Life, our brave Military and Vets, and will ALWAYS protect your Second Amendment. Early voting is NOW underway—and the Special Election takes place on Saturday, May 1st. Get out and VOTE! Susan has my Complete and Total Endorsement!”- President Donald Trump.

The race is featuring 24 candidates on the ballot.

Trump gave Mitt Romney the benefit of doubt. I don’t think Trump understood the type of scum he was dealing with.

Another limit on Trump was Mitch McConnell, who had an effective veto over any appointment that needed Senate approval. Trump might have been fooled with regard to Sessions, who was an early supporter of his, but Barr, Sessions and the three supposed conservatives placed on the Supreme Court could have moved forward only with McConnell's support. I am not saying that Trump's judgment of people was perfect, but you have to take the leverage McConnell had into account.

This is why the GOP is weak. Vote her in, who cares. She’s not the problem, it’s the GOP Leadership. Guys like McCarthy can’t control their mob like a RAT can do. The rot in the GOP starts at the top. I pray Trump can control the GOP elections until he’s elected President again.

I don’t know anything about her.

I would like to trust Trump’s judgment.

I guess I am hoping that China Mitch was the problem.

O.K.

I’ll tell you this. When he initially ran, the most off-putting thing about him, to me, was that he loved New York and New Yorkers.

I thought he was nuts. I can’t stand either.

At least now he lives in Florida.

Do I still get my MSNBC gig?
