Nearly 40 percent of workers could make more on unemployment at the $300 level than they would earn by returning to work, according to American Action Forum, a center-right policy institute. That doesn't sound very hopeful for any quick return to work.
300 a month is about 1.75 more per hour

Would be nice if Ohio had a real Republican governor.

The republican governors are only slashing the unemployment benefits because they cannot physically go out and slash the unemployed to death! (/antifa)
or maybe this
The republican governors are only slashing the unemployment benefits because want to watch the children of the unemployed to starve to death! (/Democrat)

“Normally when you’re getting unemployment, the whole idea is that’s temporary, and you need to be looking for work to be able to get off unemployment,” DeSantis said of the matter. “It was a disaster, so we suspended those job search requirements. I think it’s pretty clear now, we have an abundance of job openings.” “The demand is there. Businesses want to hire more people, and I think we can go in that direction very soon,” he added. Exactly, unemployment benefits are when there is no work, not an abundance of work.

I told my grocer I was willing to pay $2.00/pd for bacon. I pleaded for cheap bacon but he wouldn’t listen.

Biden’s plan jobs for illegals is working.
Nearly 40 percent of workers could make more on unemployment at the $300.

I visited a local fast food drive thru recently. I about fell out of my seat when I saw this sign taped to the order taking speaker:
Please be patient with our employees. We are understaffed as no one wants to work.

Butthead Biden was just on TV blaming businesses for people not going back to work. He says they aren't paying them enough!!
How rich is that after he did everything he could to destroy them financially!! The hypocrisy is beyond belief.

Reading through the comments here, it appears there is either much disinformation among FReepers, or there be trolls among us. In most parts of the country, “minimum wage” is rising to high levels. Employers are pay $10 - $17 an hour for inexperienced warm bodies to hire on to jobs they typically would be paying $9 an hour, or less, but with government “incentives” people can make more to stay home and not work. The old welfare trap. Would some of YOU like to pay $17 an hour, or even $9/hr, to someone who has never washed a dish in his life, or cooked a hamburger according to your set expectations, to do either (keeping in mind that you will have to spend time to show him, over and over, how to do the job?) If you own a business, you’re soon going to have to raise all your prices, to account for your increased costs, all for some 16 year old who only shows up when he feels like it, doesn’t want to work weekends, or you catch smoking weed out behind the dumpster? And who has also figured out he can scrape by or even live comfortably, for a 16 year old, and only work 16-20 hours a week. Or even some adults.

The businesses that plead for workers are DEFINITELY NOT the engineering companies. I know plenty of engineers and scientists looking for work. Asking for resumes but NOT hiring.
