Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) is still seeking “compromise language” for Democrat gun control, the Washington Post reported.
On April 20, 2021, Breitbart News pointed to Politico’s claim that Cornyn was talking gun control behind the scenes with Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT).
Cornyn was having “quiet conversations” with Murphy for the purposes of “[finding] common ground,” Politico indicated.
On May 16, 2021, the Post observed that Cornyn’s talks with Murphy are ongoing, saying, “Some Republicans, including Cornyn, have said they generally favor background checks and have been actively talking with Murphy about compromise language that would not go as far as the House versions but could close some loopholes.”
Cornyn admitted the talks were taking place, but suggested no middle ground has yet to be found. “There’s nothing right now to say other than we are still talking,” he said.
Murphy is currently pushing universal background check legislation in the Senate.
Colorado has universal background checks, but they did not prevent the March 22, 2021, Boulder, Colorado, attack.
New York has universal background checks as well, but they did not prevent 11 people from being shot in New York City during an 8-hour window of time on Saturday.
California adopted universal background checks in the early 1990s, but they did not prevent the April 2, 2012, Oikos University Attack/Oakland, California (7 killed); the May 23, 2014, Santa Barbara attack (6 killed); the December 2, 2015, San Bernardino attack (14 killed); the June 14, 2017, San Francisco UPS shooting (3 killed); and the November 7, 2018, Thousand Oaks attack (12 killed), among other attacks

That stuff always burns me.
I am no fan of Islam, but I cannot imagine anyone looking at the First Amendment and saying “shall make no law ...” means we can outlaw Islam and shut all the mosques. As much as I might like to, I can’t: the Constitution says I can’t.
But when it comes to the Second Amendment? “shall not be infringed...”? Oh, our government sees a bazillion ways in which it can be infringed. Hey, who’s gonna stop ‘em??
Dems do not seek Common Ground as that RINO knows.

Yeah, what we need is some vague non-specific language so the ATF can interpret however they want to. I’m sure that is what the Founding Fathers would want . . is for us to trust these bureaucratic door kickers and dog shooters.

We have to stop re-electing Assistant Democrats.
No, no more “compromises.” They are all one-way. Every time it comes up, we lose a little more freedom, a little more liberty. The only compromise the anti-gun types make is waiting until the next round to push for more. They never roll back. No more incrementalism. No more compromise. We start taking back freedoms.
Senator, the ONLY compromise has already been written and adopted. It’s called the Second Amendment.

You cannot compromise with demons. The democrats are demons.
There is no such thing as compromising with a Democrat. Any deal cut with a Democrat isn’t worth the paper it is written on. The Democrat knows he/she will be doing as the party demands anyway, so say, sign anything. It doesn’t matter. The Democrat has 100, or more lies waiting for the opportunity to BS anyone, anything who is against their agenda/goals.
The assistant Democrats are always eager to help Democrats. Funny how Democrats never ever feel free a similar sense of duty.
