Why’s he trying to act Republican for a second?

Never get through a primary. Hogan works in Maryland because the majority of Maryland voters (living in the corridor between DC and Baltimore) are liberal, but sometimes get sick of the ultra-liberal Democrats running the state. So enough of them will break and go for a centrist like Hogan to pull the state slightly less left for a while.

Someone like Hogan doesn’t work on the national stage. Nobody in the midwest wants Hogan. Nobody in the south wants Hogan. He plays in a handful of states that will never vote for him in the general election.

What? A government that cannot print its own money has to do something fiscally sensible? Who knew that not having a printing press means that a government cannot endlessly pay people not to work?

He can’t run again.

This is a good thing to do. Probably will still be hated by all our commies for taking away freebies.

Wait... you mean to tell me that what is subsidized increases, and what is taxed decreases? What a novel concept. It’s almost as if the laws of economics work. Now if only people understood the beauty of supply and demand and politicians didn’t go after so-called price-gougers.

I don’t hate him. He’s done good and bad. He’s just not pure. Still better than having guaranteed Dem commie.

Nobody in the midwest wants Hogan. Nobody in the south wants Hogan.

He wouldn't even win Maryland.

I voted for him because the Democrapt was worse. And, amazingly, a lot of Democrapts had the same reason. But I’m gone from Maryland now and am back in sane rural Indiana.

“... he’s done good and bad...”

As a lifelong MD resident, I totally agree. A lot of folks just don’t get what type of true LIBERAL Governors we had to endure. He isn’t pure but he is better than a lot. JMHO>

That’s something that I think a lot of people end up missing: Hogan isn’t a staunch conservative icon. He’s a centrist. In a state like Maryland, that’s about as good as you get. He’s been better for Maryland than the ultra-left Democrat alternatives, but judging him against conservative principles, he’s never going to come out looking great.

You can run great conservative candidates in Maryland; they’ll just never, ever win. And if you never win, you never have any influence. Getting a centrist in office in Maryland or Massachusetts New Jersey or California is an improvement. It’s not the end goal, but it’s better than what you usually see there.
