If we don’t start to take urgent action to prevent the worst impacts of climate change today, then we may experience the end of our species within a century, former President Barack Obama said in a new interview.
Obama made the argument in a wide-ranging chat, on The New York Times‘ podcast The Ezra Klein Show, that also broached partisan politics, racial justice, the impacts of his presidency, and even UFOs. Specifically, Klein asked Obama what he thought we, as a society, would be judged the most harshly for in the year 2121, making the topic of climate inaction a pretty reasonable topic to bring up.

“Well, if we don’t get a handle on climate change, then if there’s anybody around to judge us, they’ll judge us pretty harshly on it, because the data is here,” Obama replied. “We know it. And we have the tools to make real progress with it.”
Obama was likely exaggerating for effect — even the most alarming predictions for the future of humanity suggest that climate-related extinction wouldn’t happen that close to the present, though some predict societal breakdown even sooner.

But Obama’s not exaggerating by much. The dangers of climate change are already claiming a horrifying number of human lives, according to a study published Monday in the journal Nature Climate Change that linked about 37 percent of heat-related deaths in certain cities between 1991 and 2018 to human-caused temperature increases.
The United Nations recently concluded that human-caused climate change puts a million species at risk of imminent extinction, and ecosystems are already being reshaped as various organisms either die off or flee — putting humanity itself in a very precarious position for the future.

I’m calling bullshit on this. From climate.gov article, “Why did Earth’s surface temperature stop rising in the past decade?”, published in 2018:
“... the global surface temperature has not risen significantly in the past decade...”
Terrify the children. Make them think that older people don’t care about the children. Turn younger people against older people. Tell the younger people they are smart, older people are dumb. Simple, yet effective. Typical evil tactics by democrats.
So far in my book, with less than six months in office, he is griftin' for that legacy.
If humans are extinct, there won't be any generations left to judge us harshly.
“No one ever died of heat before??”
Amazing but true. I turned 77 on Tuesday and having been born and raised in South Carolina I can vouch that we never had any problems with heat exhaustion back in the forties and fifties, in fact it was almost never warm enough to enjoy a swim, even in July or August. We used to look forward to the first snow in late October and by Christmas all the rivers and lakes were frozen solid and it was Carnival on ice time. I remember the wonderful times we had picking cotton with our sweaters and wool caps on. That was such a wonderful time compared to the current era with people having heat strokes on New Years day.
No argument from me. He’s done more harm in 100 days than any other President in history. I know he’s an idiot, but I wonder who is really pulling the strings...they’re an even bigger idiot.
My guess is Hussein Obama and the Communist Chinese Party are steering the ship for Biden.

I always knew Obama was evil, but I never really thought he was stupid. But this latest statement from him is just absurd.
Obama, from the party of abortion,Killin millions. Doing absolutely nothing about inner city violence, killing thousands. Couldn’t care less about those killed in other countries by famine, tyranny, or slavery. Every extra dead person is a plus for Mother Earth.
And the democrats aren’t blamed for it.
Sorry, the climate nuts dismissed all that as “local conditions”. They ignore the Little Ice Age and Vikings dairy farming on Greenland.
