There's nothing like a smarmy hypocrite getting exposed, and North Face, the virtue-signaling outdoor clothier, just got called out as an emperor with no clothes on, following its declaration of war on Big Oil.
Here's the must-see smackdown video, done by a think tank and featuring a Big Oil employee, exposing the company in all its naked glory.
North Face had declared war on Big Oil by sanctimoniously refusing to make custom jackets with their label on them for the employees of an oil firm that tried to give them some business. The oil and gas extractors wanted to give their employees Christmas gifts with the jackets. North Face, however, said 'no' and claiming such a request was the same as a request from a porno company and therefore didn't "align" with their values because the company was all about saving the planet.
By buying petroleum products, which are used to the tune of 90% to create its products. No pure cotton goodness for them, no silk or linen, no fresh-sheared sheep wool, it's all about nylon and polyester for those backpacks.

I especially noted the hypocrisy that not one item in North Face’s catalogue was free of petroleum based materials. (not even taking into account the fuel to power the plants and to deliver the product)
north face is unsustainable
Whenever I see one those weenies wearing a North Face jacket, I always ask them to what does North Face refer to? Have yet to hear one answer the “North Face of El Capitain” which has one hell of a climb... They usually just shrug...
BINGO!
Buy “South Butt” gear instead. đ
I remember when this happened & could not believe how clueless TNF was with their virtue signaling BS. Patagonia is just as bad about this sort of thing.

If a gay porno film crew wanted jackets made I’m sure some judge somewhere would claim that North Face violated their civil rights.
Same with the kayakers with their kayaks and rain jackets made of oil. Same with the wet suit/dry suit people and on and on.
All oil haters use oil daily. Phones and computers are made from what? The packaging on everything they buy is made from what? The tires, interiors, paint and more on their electric cars are made from what?
The bigger tactic would be to call for a boycott of NF till they switch away from petroleum sourced products. Then when they do, their prices will increase and their quality will decline. It’ll hurt the company more.
They deserve to go out of business for their activism. There’s not enough dead corporations along the road to serve as warnings to woke capital.
Do they realize just what fidiots they are or do they just not care.
Sounds like a lawsuit in the manner of a certain wedding cake maker.
—people such as this need to have it pounded into them that everything—EVERYTHING—starts out being mined or grown—
Yeah, they may not care too much for the smell of the roaring dung fire from the veranda of their mud hut. Sadly, there are a LOT of buyers for the BS being sold.
Ha!
Correction. It was not “Big Oil” that fought back. It was an Independent, who is likely to be one of the saviours of the Oil and Gas Industry. This is what a friend that owns a medium sized Independent O & G company wrote me when I noted that the increased Oil and Gas production has allowed the feeding of billions of more people, as well as being a cornerstone of our economy:
“Yep, itâs hard to imagine a profession that does more to help people lift themselves up. Iâm very proud. And it is frustrating the crony majors, theyâre feeding the alligators, and that wonât end well for them. We are working on some really good things. I will keep you posted.”
I encouraged this individual to take the lead for Independents to fight back with the truth about Global Warming, and the necessity of Oil and Gas to sustain the planet with cheap, available energy. I hope he does.
I don’t care what it’s made of; I am keeping my ‘Members Only’ jacket and wearing it proudly! ;)
Maybe theyâll switch to a plant based oil thatâs â sustainableâ, except in weather where the jackets will melt into a slush like a General Mills corn Bugle that fell into a puddle.
