Buying one or 2 draft horses to pull your gas car would be cheaper.
“The only benefit I see to electric vehicles is smugness.”
You forgot VIRTUE SIGNALING. LOOK at me, I drive an electric car. I’m GRRRREEEEEEEEEEEENNNNN
Already thinking of buying a relative’s minivan for pennies that has a new transmission and get a new engine put in it at my local shop. Then it’s good for another 200,000 miles.
I think the game is scarcity and price.
To get people out of individual means of transportation and to use much less electric on an individual basis is part of their Great Reset nonsense.

And into their ultimate goal arcologies (you’ve seen them in some dystopian movies) ... where only the wealthy and well connected have any access to the surrounding countryside made up of their multi-square mile estates, vast parks, and preserves.
When the power goes out, the electricity to pump gasoline into your gas tank is gone there too. But if we’re forced into battery-powered cars without building out generating capacity, we are very screwed.
the whole of government, major corporate and media have signed-on to this massive social-engineering scheme, so it seems like it will happen.
Because of this government-corporate project, we can all expect to pay A LOT more for transportation, and have our every movement tracked.
only if you can find gas, and its affordable, and only if you are allowed to drive it on any road. Else get those horses ...
Last year I dropped a new engine and transmission into my 25 year-old Jeep. I’m set for the next ten years or so. It’s beyond EPA regulations and while I have no plans to sell it, I can see a thriving market for restoring 80’s and 90’s SUVs and trucks. Buy NAPA stock.
Buy gasoline by the tanker truck load for your underground storage ... else they gov may halt the production of gasoline for use in private vehicles.
Don’t bet on it.
In Japan, older cars are outlawed by making the license plate more and more expensive till they are unaffordable.
That will happen here at some point.
Insurance will be unobtainable for the same reasons.
ICE cars will be destroyed en masse at trade-in. “Cash-For-Clunkers” was a trial run.
They will crush all old cars, the used car market for ICE cars will disappear, until only EV are on the market.................
the whole of government, major corporate and media have signed-on to this massive social-engineering scheme, so it seems like it will happen.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Short of CWIII the Convention of States is looking more plausible. Guns and ICE cars (real cars) are a very unifying bulwark. It goes hand in hand with the needs of cities vs. the needs of fly over folks. Except cities don’t eat without fly over folks....
They never mention where the Electricity will come from to charge these vehicles . Every inch of the planet will have to be cleared for wind turbines(need a house sized concrete and steel underground footing) and solar
If I cannot drive 900 miles in ONE DAY it is worthless
They want you close to home or trapped in your home
They don’t want you driving.
Period.
That’s the point.
Bingo!
The question no one wants to publicly ask: where does the energy come from that charges the batteries in an electric car? Electric cars are a scam and forcing them on society to eliminate fossil fuel burning vehicles will in the long term leave everybody stranded. The desired goal is to immobilize society where only government authorities and the military will be mobile. Control!
Where are we going to dispose of all those batteries?
Who will make up the shortfall in Federal and State gasoline taxes?
$10,000 incentive? replace all ICE cars?
How much is $10,000 x 287,000,000? (# of cars in USA, 2020)
$287 billion!
Now we’re talkin’ real money.
Crank up those printers, we have money to “make!”
The batteries are recyclable into new batteries..................
That’s $2.87 TRILLION......................
And the very wealthy........................
