The last time Americans were this unhappy about prices of big-ticket purchases was 1982, when the Federal Reserve was fighting a war against double-digit inflation.
The University of Michigan’s survey of consumer sentiment showed U.S. consumers more concerned with higher prices of appliances, houses, and cars than anytime in 39 years, according to the survey’s chief economist Richard Curtin.

Wash Examiner has a piece about how the Stupid Party can hang this around the Rats necks for 2022. Hopefully the Stupid Party is following the plot.
Quick, federal government! Manipulate the data some more to make it appear that inflation is low. That should settle everyone down.
Yeah well it seems the other day a big ticket item for us was filling up the truck with gas. Thanks joe. Oh, and X-on for furthering their desire to become carbon neutral. Or something.
Of course what they don’t say is this was Reagan’s attempt to unwind the Carter Admin nearly crushing the economy with Gov controls on everything.
I was out of work for four years thanks to Carter.
I still remember my first paycheck in ‘83 , staring at it like I won the lottery.
Yes, no tweets from new Prez.....
So, Americans, how do you like your socialist paradise life under the ones YOU voted for, Biden and Kamala Harris? And your Dem House and Senate. Proud of yourselves?
"Those expecting a significant surge in inflation will likely be disappointed for the one reason which seems to get mostly overlooked."
Big ticket items? I’m worried about the price increase on little ticket items like electricity, fuel, coffee, and meat.
The feds did that yesterday. Will that big durable cost less today, assuming you can find one for sale?
Good luck to anybody looking to buy a boat or a compact tractor. Dealers are all sold out of everything and won’t be getting more until next year!
> Yes, no tweets from new Prez..... <
To be fair to Mr. Biden, think about all the people that have to sign off before Joe releases a tweet: Jill Biden, Barack Obama, Kamala Harris, President Xi of China, etc.
Yes.
Biden: People keep shoving papers at me all day long and telling me don’t read it just sign at the bottom. I never would have time to tweet. Guess I’d let my handlers do them under my name. Easier.
We recently went back to home roasting coffee. Spectacular coffees, freshly roasted, then freshly ground for each pot. Unbeatable aroma, flavor, complexity. Fortunately, the old home roaster is still in good working order. Worked beautifully for a test batch with the propane generator.
Unroasted green coffee beans have a remarkably long shelf life.
“Worries About Big Ticket Item Inflation Hit Worse Level Since 1982”
___________
How does a gramatically incorrect headline like this pass muster for purposes of digitally) publishing?
By “worse” Breitbart’s editors clearly meant “worst”.
Or, if they love the word “worse” they should have said something like, for example, the level of worry today is worse than it was at any time since 1945.
Who is Breitbart hiring to perform the editing function? This is a major news outlet. Can’t they find people to hire who have basic grammar down pat?
1982
Editing is so 20th-century.
Part of the plan. When inflation starts hitting the supermarkets, hardware stores, service industries at around 8% his administration response will not be lower spending and taxes. It will be enforced govt price controls with the govt taking over businesses if not directly, then by handing control to chosen actors as was tried by FDR and the National Recovery Act. Biden holds a fantasy that he is here to finish FDR’s work, interrupted by the post war economic boon.

Interesting. Where do you buy green coffee beans from?
