Taliban celebrates as they take possession of precision U.S. weapons, armored fighting vehicles Biden's military disaster

Leo Tolstoy wrote that "war is always pernicious even when successful."

The United States' ongoing withdrawal from Afghanistan demonstrates the truth of this claim.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid announced on Twitter that Taliban fighters overran government security forces with ease this week in the Maidan Wardak Province, just west of Kabul.

His posts included several pictures of booty from the conquest, which included American-made machine guns, rifles, carbines and armored vehicles.

"The enemy fled on seeing the casualties, and a large number of tanks, heavy and light weapons and ammunition fell into the hands of the Mujahideen," he tweeted.

News of the Taliban's successes is merely the latest in the movement's pernicious campaign to capitalize on the U.S. withdrawal, reassert its hegemony over Afghanistan and reinstate the government that the U.S. overthrew 20 years ago.

Alas, Afghan forces are unlikely to prevent a resurgence of the Taliban without American military presence. Despite the fact that America spent more than $2 trillion on the war effort and committed two decades of training efforts, Afghan security forces are, by all measures, a joke.

The problem with Afghanistan is climate change, and lack of health care for at-risk peoples.

Sorry.
If a country has men that will not fight for their freedom why should our troops be made to do it.

Vietnam was LBJs cash cow

When it comes to caveman societies like Afghanistan that need to be corrected, bomb and leave is the only sensible option. Carrots do not have any effect on them. They understand the stick. The only thing left behind for them to steal is rubble

Trump had at least planned a clean break with a deadline that the Taliban respected. Beijing Joe’s staff have been so malign and incompetent in undoing everything Trump accomplished that they’ve managed to screw even that up. It’s their bust now.

A punitive expedition would have been appropriate. When the mission became “Nation Building” things went to hell in a hand basket. There is no raw material in Afghanistan with which to Nation Build. We should have been out in 3 years at most.

To correct you: the South Vietnamese did fight for their country - and fought hard. But the VC were generously supported and augmented by North Vietnam and they in turn were generously supplied and trained by the Soviets and the Chinese. The key difference between the ARVN and us was that they were there for the duration, until they were disabled or killed. Were there for 13 months at a crack and could go home - they couldn't.

And how was "Vietnam a cash cow"? We were fight a war along a 10,000 mile path, using 1960s logistics - we were operated with a minimum budget, and supported by mostly "least bidder" weapons and 1942-lot C-rations.

Where was this "cash cow"?

George Washington lived when when we benefited from a huge ocean moat between us and our adversaries. All of that evaporated with the invention of the steam warship and the transoceanic plane flight.

The main benefits we accrued from those of us who fought were that our allies and adversaries saw us fight effectively for another people for ten hard years. The old "paper tiger" smear was visibly disproven and over the long haul, led to the fall of communism and the Soviet Union/Warsaw Pact.

I take it you were not able to fight?

OK
LET’S GET THIS EMBARRASSMENT BACK AND IN A HOME !
Joe Biden is incapable of being a functional idiot.
He cannot operate on his own and MUST be one half step away from a baby halter to keep him from getting lost.
In the first video, Joe Biden has wandered away from where he was supposed to be and had to be “recovered” by Jill and in the second video, they found a way to keep him LOOKING like he’s functioning normally ....Stay in back and follow the crowd.
AMERICA IS A LEADER, NOT A FOLLOWER
IMPEACH JOE BIDEN AND KAMALA HARRIS
(she’d welcome the demotion ... this is one job she thought was cool, but it really sucks differently that what she wants)

I always promised myself that if I ever found whomever ran Blue Star Food Manufacturing, I'd force them at M-14 point to eat their own product.
