Pay for first year corporate attorneys has skyrocketed, with some firms now paying young graduates more than $200,000 starting salaries.

New York-based corporate law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, which has 975 attorneys, upped pay on Friday for 2021 law school graduates to $202,500, the Wall Street Journal reported. Another New York law firm, 765-attorney Milbank LLP, reportedly raised first-year pay to $200,000 last week.

Other firms that jacked-up pay in the past week include Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP; Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo PC; and Proskauer Rose LLP, according to the Journal, which also reported firms paid-out bonuses throughout the pandemic.

How many of these "woke" morons are competent when it comes to practicing law after what they learned in law schools these days?

None, so don't find yourself at a judges mercy as they migrate to the bench.

In a world where the judges make up law for each case, using the concept of the”living Constitution” taught in law schools for decades, the freshly minted attorneys should do well.

No amount of money is enough to make me live in the New York City area. No amount whatsoever. A zillion dollars? Hah. I'd rather live in a rotting single-wide hidden up some dark hollow.

Zero. New LS grads know less than nothing. They are used to pad the bills until they learn a thing or two. Associates at big firms can languish for years before learning how to do anything of merit. Most will wash out in a few years with a few select sticking it out.

I’m guessing that knowledge of the law (who needs it?) is completely secondary to the important question: “Are you in the club?”

This doesn’t surprise me, since the local McDonald’s had “$17/hour to start” on their sign here yesterday.

Then they go to Washington DC.

Downside is that it's in New York City.

There’s “practicing law” and then there is litigating.

Litigators are the real lawyers. The corporate drudges are only glorified clerks, and should never preside over any trial court.

Just my opinion, of course.

No wonder the brightest students opt for Law Degrees instead of STEM Degrees.

Isn’t a law degree a form of privilege? If so, shouldn’t we ban them?
