There are pretty sound theories that to control devastating forest fires and keep forests healthy you need to have occasional fires - often enough that it doesn't get out of hand and burn half the state down.
President Trump could have said that the sky is blue, and the MSM would immediately have twisted itself into knots to proclaim: “No, the sky is yellow and green!”
Wildfires are a natural part of the ecology.
Prevent them for decades on end and the flammable biomass builds up to catastrophic proportions and when you finally get a wildfire it burns so hot it sterilizes the land.
Hate to tell you; but the cleanup would cost more than the lumber is worth.
Easiest way is selective thinning then controlled burns.
Timber company makes some money and ground clutter is significantly reduced.

I’m a mountain biker and they’ve been out doing this all over in the Bay Area since 2017
They go out on fire roads with these giant machines with his twirling plant destroyers they just raise everything 6 feet on either side of the trail down to nothing
Up in the East Bay they been taking out eucalyptus trees for many decades now
