Republican Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah) and Josh Hawley (Mo.) — who certainly did not find common ground on another recent issue — Marco Rubio and others are seeking ways to address family poverty and its impact on family stability. Many Hill Democrats and the Biden administration have the same aim. The drive to reduce or eliminate child poverty is not limited to the Congress and the White House. Mayors for a Guaranteed Income has formed, with mayors across the country from Eric Garcetti of Los Angeles, to Levar Stoney of Richmond, Va., finding funding for experiments in their jurisdictions with a guaranteed family income.
The $1.9 trillion rescue package this March included billions in payments to families with children. That income support is temporary, expiring at the end of this year.

Stop rewarding females for not marrying the father of their children....
Exactly!
There was a time in this country, when you couldn’t just get public assistance because you had a baby without a husband.
Times were different then, I’m sure someone reading this is thinking. I would just say, there were some good reasons behind the social stigma to being pregnant without a husband in those days.
Oh, now they LOOOVVVVVEE Nixon!
Nixon was their Trump back in the day.
When folks get welfare, food stamps, government checks for doing nothing, child care credits etc. and starve their kids in return, something is wrong. Get rid of socialist policies that are destroying the country instead of throwing more money at the problem.
Any new programs need to be of the “teach-how-to-fish” rather than the current modus operandi of “give-a-fish”. It’s time for programs designed to create dependency on the gov’t to end.

throwing more money at the problem is the liberal solution to just about everything. We have fought this “war on poverty” since the 1960s, but have little to show for it, in terms of reducing poverty.
The liberal mantra is that, liberal solutions to all of our problems are found in various government programs, and, that failures of government programs to solve our societal problems are simply because we haven’t spent enough money on those programs.
People need work and to be deservingly rewarded for work, not hand outs of cash, which over time demean the individual by demeaning self-worth, which the individual knows in their soul cannot come from doing nothing.
They’ve got it totally backward. Child poverty comes from family instability—not the other way around.
Every additional heap of government family surrogacy just further weakens the almost caput family fabric in the population they purport to be wanting to help.
STOP paying for ANY children where there isn’t a marriage.
STOP paying for #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7, etc.
Codify that wages are not appurtenances to wealth but an
exchange of time for money correcting the corrupt SCOTUS declaration that wages are appurtenances to wealth and taxable as income (glenshaw glass) which will require this direct tax to be constitutionally apportioned among the states.
