It has been an excruciatingly agonizing wait for the families of the victims of the building collapse in Miami-Dade County’s town of Surfside. On Saturday, Gov. Ron DeSantis went to meet them at the Grand Beach Hotel Surfside.
Crews have been working overnight, through the rain, and even at the risk of spontaneous fires. Officials said they are doing their best to provide regular updates at the hotel. Still, some relatives are losing their patience.
“It’s not enough,” a distraught mother told DeSantis. “Imagine if your children were in there. You are going to leave here and you are going to take a nice picture. I know you are doing everything you can, but it’s not enough.”

What was he supposed to do? Hold up the building, so it wouldn’t collapse?
I feel for this woman and her pain, but, calling out DeSantis isn’t the right thing to do, here.
What about the city managers, building owners/managers? Start there, dear lady.
She also said, “ I know you are doing everything you can...” -— Perhaps the desire to harm DeSantis is why the progress seems so slow.
Exactly. My local FOX affiliate here in CT has ended up to the left of CNN recently.
Who owns the building? Who was responsible for its upkeep?
You live in a blue city, lady.
Maybe you should be asking why Miami CITY government was lax in its building inspections or, more likely, taking kickbacks and bribes to further line their political pockets.
You’ve probably voted Democrat all your life.
Welcome to the consequences of your decisions.
Oh geez... I just *knew* this was coming. DeSantis will get the blame (by leftists) for EVERYTHING that goes wrong in the state of Florida. And naturally the media will run with it...
I’m sorry for her likely loss, but she is also full of crap.
It is obviously a disaster, likely preventable with proper inspections and oversight, NONE of which is related in any way to DeSantis. This is a county/ city problem, with state assistance to recover.
The excuse will be that she is distraught. But whinging in the midst of a disaster crisis is just so reliably helpful to no one.
Watch as the death-toll climbs you're going to see the liberal media start with the sob stories of people who lost their loved ones and then ranting about DeSantis.
I guarantee you if a hurricane hits Florida, the Biden Administration isn't going to do a damn thing and the media will blame DeSantis and turn it into another Katrina.
The Left doesn't care if innocent people die folks. Just like they had a daily COVID-19 death tracker during Trump but nothing about the people dying from the jab now.
He signed a emergency declaration or what ever it’s called almost immediately to expedite needed resources to the scene.
They can only search so quick. You can’t just take a machine and start digging or you risk further collapse and injury or death to survivors or rescuers. They need to work with engineers to plan every move.
Sadly, based on the time of the collapse and the extent of the damage, it is likely most of the people inside were killed in the initial collapse.
I am not making a statement about the facts involved, because I don’t know, but if the owner(S) of this and all other apartment complexes have been blindsided by the Biden/covid rent holiday, then how are any landlords expected to accomplish any maintenance with no rent coming in?
😥
The woman who screamed at DeSantis owns it, since she probably bought the unit for her kid.
The Mayor of Miami-Dade County is a Democrat. I think this woman needs to take her complaints to Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. It’s the local government that has failed her, and the people in that building.
Or an actual city building inspector.
Building inspector was on roof of Florida condo hours before collapse

You’re right. If I’m thinking DeSantis is very much aware and has plans to deal with such a scenario.
Thus making them look just like the fools they are.
Yep, I saw that too.
The attacks on Desantis the next 3 yrs will be relentless with this media... national and local.
