I have a friend who lived exactly where that condominium sits today. He said that they wanted to build a drug store on that location but that building application was turned down because the geologic conditions were too unstable to build there.
Buildings that are built on a sandy soil will have their foundations supported by deep piers. Down underground there is a water table from the ocean. Salt water can penetrate concrete and slowly cause it to break down, as well as eating into any underlying metal reinforcements used inside the concrete. This will cause the building to settle, causing strains on the structure.
How this condominium was built there is the big question.

Maybe you should be asking why Miami CITY government was lax in its building inspections or, more likely, taking kickbacks and bribes to further line their political pockets.

Start with the HOA, whom didn’t effect the repairs called for three years ago in the inspector’s report...
Knock it off with the bombing conspiracy nonsense, and take five minutes to read the structural inspector’s report—I did. The pool deck above the garage was severely compromised, as were the support columns underneath in the garage, due to bad design. There was no slope built into the pool deck to allow for drainage. The inspection found that there was immediate need to replace this entire slab, at great cost...and that was three years ago.
Obviously, the HOA didn’t do it.
What’s he supposed to do - don work clothes and try to start pulling pieces of concrete off the pile himself? I get that she’s distraught but its not like DeSantis can do anything about this right now.
Why are you defending something not proven just because I question? Everything you stated is your opinion. No basis in anything other than your own personal analysis of your own sources of information. I choose to keep a discerning point of view regarding this incident.

Because there is ample and recent evidence that this disaster was caused by improper maintenance, and there is ZERO evidence to suggest an act of terror.
Would you like to also propose that the building was brought down by a laser blast from a hovering UFO? That would have just as much merit as your bombing suggestion.
