FBI Informants More Likely Than Agents at Jan 6, Former Undercover Agent Says

Recent inquiries about whether FBI operatives were mixed in among the protesters and intruders who broke into the United States Capitol on Jan. 6 will more likely uncover the presence of FBI informants rather than undercover agents, according to Marc Ruskin, a 27-year FBI veteran and former undercover agent who is also an Epoch Times contributor.
Before he left the bureau in 2012, there were only about 100 undercover FBI agents in the whole country, Ruskin told the Epoch Times. Deployment of each requires a lengthy, “very resource-intensive” operation that needs to be approved on several levels. Even if there was a top-down operation run by the headquarters underway on Jan. 6, it would have been unlikely that any significant number of undercover agents were present, he said.

He said that during his tenure he hadn’t seen the FBI use informants as de facto “agents provocateur” to incite crimes at a political event, but that he has watched the bureau getting politicized by its leadership and, particularly in recent years, repeatedly breaking its own rules.

I would say based on the article, that whether it was informants or actual agents, its become a distinction without a difference.

Imagine a Senate hearing where one of these informants was point blank asked: Were you prompted or guided by a person or persons within the Federal government to inite people on January 6th?. What are their names?"

Right. Just like FISA, all sorts of checks and balances within the agency to make sure things are done right, legally, and ethically.

And yet...

Yep. I don’t care what the precise status of FBI instigators was on Jan.6. The fact they were there is the problem.

....distinction without a difference.

Agreed.
When a person is acting upon the instructions of another, they are de-facto an “agent”

what also is important is how many of these people were Media-Dem Party operatives that the FBI is covering up for?

The leadership of at least one prominent “right wing” group is a known FBI informant.

Actually, it is an important point, and aligns with yours. If you call them the wrong thing, you enable the FBI to mislead when they deny.

More likely?
Saying they were absolutely informants would be more assuring.

IOW it's just more government agency lies to appease the public they despise.

I think what this guy was saying is that the FBI wouldn't actually use their own people, they'd farm it out to trusted "paid third-party contractors" so they can technically say that "none of their agents" were involved

FBI won't release video footage of the actual instigators

Notice also how the FBI is "simply unable" - despite all its vast high-tech hardware & software - to identify and arrest ANY of the actual instigators of Jan. 6 ... they're only identified as "Unindicted Co-Conspirator #1", "Unindicted Co-Conspirator #2", etc.

For anyone who wants to look objectively, it's obvious what happened here ...
