She was a completely rotten choice for SCOTUS. She just PO’ed a ton of people in Chicago.
I think this is a great thing- the people don’t want it and it will be a major eyesore and a reminder of what they didn’t want.
Let us imagine....
It is built.
Some BLM walking buttholes burn it to the ground.
Well, can’t do anything about that, can we?
Do you really think she decided based on wanting to benefit obama? You think that she didn’t consider the legal issues involved, including whether the federal courts should be involved in a local zoning case? In your opinion, she decided to side with Obama and that’s how she made the decision?
Obama … pissing on Chicago and calling it sunshine.
It’s just how he rolls.
Don’t like Obama but I don’t see why they would stop construction of his library. Just because I hate the guy doesn’t mean some group should block the construction.
As we see how the Trump appointees to the court have ruled we can understand why the left no longer pushes any need for expanding the court
Now for the rest of the story...
They asked the court to halt construction at Jackson Park because they believed the required environmental reviews weren’t done by federal, state and local governments.
The group argued that construction would “demolish significant parts of Jackson Park, its historical resources, parkland, and trees,” which would in turn negatively impact “the historic landscape, wildlife, and migratory birds.”
I don’t suppose she mentioned the Afghanistan catastrophe while she was at it???
So that means Trump can put his MAGA library anywhere he wants and libtards can’t stop him.
All of the Trump SCOTUS picks suck!
What a disappointment she turned out to be.
Amy Phony Barrett really screwed all of the citizens groups that have fought for 100 years to keep the Chicago lakefront free of any buildings.
She is worse than David Souter.
Who keeps lofting these not ready for prime time people who
are a dollar short and a day late when it comes to justice?
The people of Chicago should have a say in this, and they have
said hell no!
Amy, get back to the sandbox.
I am very disappointed in the new breed of conservative judicial activists who think that we should abandon the principles of originalism and textualism so forcefully championed by Scalia and impose our will through the courts rather than the other branches of government. That is what Dem judges do.
This is about the law, not whether you think building this thing is right or not. I happen to think the whole plan stinks, but deciding that policy issue is not for SCOTUS.
I knew she was a bad pick!
Trump was 0-3 on the Supremes. Accident?
Oh, for Pete’s sake. she doesn’t give a damn about the library — there just aren’t any laws to prevent it.
They are the Supreme Beings now that they have scrapped the Constitution.
Screw you then Barret.
