So they left billions in sophisticated equipment, and probably tens of thousands of full auto rifles, for a bunch of 7th Century savages who cut off people’s heads, stone people to death for wearing the wrong clothes and rape little girls for entertainment, but if your rifle barrel is 1/2 inch too short, they’ll break down your door, shoot your dogs, kick your pregnant wife in the belly and beat the crap out of you as they drag you to prison - if they don’t just outright murder you on the spot.
