Goes for me too. Usually assumed to be male, which is both complimentary and presumptive at the same time.
Not the first time people have thought I’m male here on FR. In the real world there’s no question even a little I’m female.
When I make comment of how I see some women in politics and the like...and generally it’s insecure woman who dislike what I’m saying about women. However it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to size up the wrong woman in places of power who should not be governing.
I’m always mistaken on FR. Guess I fit the “male” mold.
I’m not simply “insecure” (that often applies to the males). I’m not in denial about females either.
I’ll say willingly that ladies aren’t as good - and not interested - in math and science as I am. I didn’t see that many as an engineer in school or work - though many more than you might think. Conversely men aren’t as good at verbal pursuits. Etc.
But I also don’t like when women are berated for the very things they’re supposed to be “natural” at - as if it’s bad and inferior and even laughable.
As for women leaders, in terms of strict “leadership”, yes, women aren’t going to fill the ranks. However, the *few* there have been in top positions, are usually ranked amongst the best ever. Meanwhile, thousands of men have filled those ranks and been total disasters or just forgettable.
Well I just have to say if men blasted woman as often and frequently as we see women berate men there would be law suites galore.
Heck, the lawyers would be able to afford their own buildings, not just suites.
I don’t really believe that. Men are still ripping on women esp. on FR. Could be partly just reactionary, but still pretty easy to document. God forbid you aren’t gorgeous and showing it all, or even just had a poor pix moment. I’ve been the victim of that here, pix along with the old “you’re just jealous cuz you’re not hot like she is”. To go along with the endless “guilty” threads.
Well whenever I’m at a social gathering of men and women the amount of barbs and jokes made about men always dominates.
Oh that could be sometimes. Maybe about specific men.
Either way, have we hijacked this thread?
