President Trump said something similar to what you just said, paraphrasing, “This covid is just another flu and will disappear in summer when warm weather arrives”. That was in early 2020. And sadly he lost the election. Biden locked himself in basement and scared Americans figured Biden was taking covid more seriously. Rest is history.

I was thinking today maybe it was a Godsend that Trump lost. If Trump was doing the evacuation you know that the military would of made it a disaster for him. Sate Dept whistle blowers marched out to testify against him at his next impeachment hearing, Generals leaking info to the media, to the Taliban, etc. Blamed Trump for leaking the list of names to the Taliban.
No way the media would have given him a win or kudos for the withdrawal. They would of made sure it was a chaotic failure.
