McCarthy: ‘Majority’ of Republicans will vote no on infrastructure bill
NY Post ^ | 09/30/2021 | Mark Moore

House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy said he believes members of his caucus will vote against President Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure deal.

“I think the majority, an overwhelming amount of our members, are going to vote no, because they don’t view it as an infrastructure bill,” McCarthy (R-Calif.) said at his weekly press briefing on Capitol Hill on Thursday.

“I went to the White House, in the Oval Office, that’s exactly what I told the president. We want to build roads, highways, bridges, broadband, airports. We want to reform NEPA. We want to make sure this happens and gets built in less than a decade. And we want to be able to make sure America is competitive,” he said, referring to the National Environmental Policy Act.

Give the Democrats whatever they want, but try to look “oppositional” while you do it.

You never know, some of those Repumpkins might accidently press the wrong button, and condemn the entire country to economic disaster. Hey, it happens.

In an attempt to eliminate fossil fuels, this legislation would impose a “fee” on all methane emissions, including in our agriculture industry. We all know that a fee is just a tax and that consumers are the ones who will pay for it. The tax is estimated to cost $6,500 per dairy cow, $2,600 per head of cattle, and $500 per swine each year. That is more than what the animals are worth, it’ll run ranchers out of business.

Any "Republican" who does not vote No should be booted from the party and primaried. Hopefully Trump has endorsable candidates lined up to replace each of them. Time to play hardball.

Would be great to hear Trump announce exactly that: "You vote for this $1.2B infrastructure bill or the $3.5B reconciliation bill and I will personally endorse and support a credible candidate to primary and replace you in Congress."

Not that I have much regard for McCarthy, but I doubt there's a thing he can do to prevent the likes of Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger from voting yes.

Majority,... so 50.01% of them will. Good to know.

I’m sure more will, but who in their right mind could sign
on to this Halloween appropriate bill?

No worries. Humans put out very little methane. Pigs don't put out much either which tells you it's not about the climate/science. It's a transfer of wealth from farmers, most of who are conservatives, to tech people that will make lab grown meat.

Notice(2nd column) pigs put out less methane than goats but they don't mention any tax on goats. Guess who eats goat? Muslims and Hispanics. Can't piss off the base though.
