Republican officials from Arizona told Congress on Thursday that Maricopa County conducted a “free, fair and accurate election” in November, that Joe Biden won the state and that a Republican-commissioned review of nearly 2.1 million ballots in the county did not find the widespread fraud claimed by former president Donald Trump.
The House Oversight Committee summoned Jack Sellers, chairman of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors; Bill Gates, vice chairman of the board; and Ken Bennett, a former Arizona secretary of state, to testify after the state Senate hired the Florida firm Cyber Ninjas to conduct a review.
The six-month, GOP-driven review confirmed the accuracy of the results, according to a report released last month, but that has not silenced Trump, who continues to make false claims, or those of other Republicans, including several Arizona lawmakers on the House committee.
The review also has triggered similar actions in other states, including states that Trump won.
The officials testified Thursday to the legitimacy of the results, with Biden defeating Trump by 45,000 votes in the county and winning the state and its 11 electoral votes by more than 10,000 votes.
“The election of November 3rd, 2020, in Maricopa County was free, fair and accurate,” Sellers told the panel. “Maricopa County is the second-largest voting district in the United States of America. I sit before you today as a Republican who was voted into office in November of 2020.” Sellers was elected to a four-year term.
Gates warned about the repercussions if elected officials refuse to accept the results and expressed disbelief at what he is seeing in the United States.

It’s over. Arizona is not even going to decertify their 2020 election results. Did anyone honestly expect differently? I suspect some did, likely the same group that believed there was no way the DEMs would steal the election from Trump in 2020.

Such gaslighting. They continue to base their story on the fact that the recount showed that on the same ballots cast the same results were obtained.
BUT we know that wasn’t the purpose of the audit. It started there snd then asked the next question, we’re those ballots all legit?
The answer? NO.
Well of course Maricopa County RINOs would say that. But this is not about their false claims.
The GOP is just pleased that their preferred candidate won the election and now sits in the White House. That’s really all that matters.
Sellers and Gates are still actual targets of the Attorney General at this point. Deleted files? 57K questionable ballots?
But they show up in DC to claim vindication.
The real question is Ken Bennett. During the hearing, he basically threw in the towel and shrugged his shoulders...all seems ‘bout normal to me! Was his attitude. Funny that Ken...what about the fishy ballots? The phony addresses?
There’s something going on with him. He was in hot water at the end for running his mouth off...but then Karen Fann let him back into the fold. He’s got a little axe to grind it seems...

Wait, don’t fall for this story. These are the people who were responsible for Maricopa and who tried to stonewall and prevent the audit. The Wapo hopes that guy don’t notice.
