Mayor Bill de Blasio paid tribute to Colin Powell, who died Monday from COVID-19 complications, saying the Harlem-born first black secretary of state exemplified the best of the Big Apple and made New Yorkers “very proud.”

“General Powell served this nation with just tremendous distinction,” he said Monday morning during his daily press briefing, held remotely in City Hall.

De Blasio noted Powell’s “absolute classic New York City story” of being born to Jamaican immigrants, growing up in Harlem and The Bronx and graduating from Morris High School before attending City College of New York.

“Just an absolute great example of the good, the talent, the ability that came out of New York City, but he took it to the next level,” said the mayor.

Wilhelm is so sleezy, of course he would be proud of a turncoat.

When de Blasio pays someone a tribute, you know that person was a stone, cold internationalist.

Powell had a military career to be honored. His political debacles with Bush and Obama were disgraceful.

“Powell was clean and articulate, light-skinned and with no negro dialect.”

— Harry Reid, presumably.

Mr. Wilhelm (his real name) honeymooned in Communist Cuba— not far from the home country of Colin Powell’s parents. Wilhelm is married to a confirmed Combahee Collective dyke, and both are confused personally and politically... ultra Leftist front Socialists at a minimum.

Changes his name to his MOTHER’s name to to insult his father a WWII veteran and Texaco marketing exec. Fascinating disgusting reversal of American values. All the way.

He was 84 years old with blood cancer. A twig blown by a stiff breeze could have taken him out. But we got some covid stuff here we can pin it on...

When he comes back to life, after seeing the light, he’ll write one heck of a best seller.

Agreed on his military career, Reno.

Reading his biography several years ago and going from memory here, I’ll never forget his telling of his aunt’s penchant for rum. Powell related how at family gatherings she would ask for just a little taste of it in a very large glass, but when it was brought to her she said they could at least fill the huge thing half way so it would have something in it. :-)

Maybe Colin Powell was a patriot up to some point, and then he wasn’t. His loved ones have my sympathies. I hope he knew Jesus as his Savior.
