Kevin McCarthy predicts more Democrats retiring ahead of 2022

Republican House leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy believes there will be more retirements among Democrats leading up to the midterm elections in 2022, as they grapple with the likely possibility of losing their majorities in the next term.

“Once you get past Thanksgiving and members go home, and they’re Democrats and they’ve been challenged before and they’re going to get beat up, Congress is not that great,” the Republican from California told Fox News.

McCarthy’s prediction comes as two long-serving Democrats in the House, Reps. David Price (D-NC) and Mike Doyle (D-Penn.) announced their decision not to run for reelection in the next cycle.

It’s nice that he is in the prediction game, but I would prefer he recruit SOLID America First conservatives to run in all races.

Retirements alone are not going to put the GOP in control. They need to field candidates.

*************

He’s Paul Ryan’s puppet.

Its hard to get too excited about a Republican majority in congress. Its often a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

Hey McCarthy. Why not do something productive and put Marjorie Taylor Greene back onto committee assignments.

Marjorie Taylor Greene: no committee assignments

Liz Cheney: Committee on Armed Services

Adam Kinzinger: Committee on Foreign Affairs and Committee on Energy and Commerce

I predict McCarthy and the GOP won’t change one bit. They are what they are.

It's hard to get too excited about a Republican majority in congress. It's often a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.

They'll kill some fringe Leftist bills for show but let through all of the gigantic "bipartisan" bills with poisonous, liberty-eroding clauses hidden in the Sargasso Sea of defense spending. Business as usual.

I would prefer he step down !! He has too much Paul Ryan in him and we don’t need him as speaker in the event we win back the house. We need a strong leader and he’s not it.

I suspect you are correct. The system intimidates the few actual conservative leaders and stomps them. It's one big go along to get along game and only the votes are the losers. I will say for all the crap Gingrich took, he was able to successfully move things enough to keep Clinton in check.

Probably so, and even a little Ryan in him spoils the brew.

Doyle is my worthless Rep (Pittsburgh, PA)

He assured Stupack that Obama Care did NOT contain abortion provisions so Stupack’s group would support it.

And Doyle claims to be a Catholic!!!

Only problem is - Pittsburgh ALWAYS votes for the ‘rats. I have no idea why.

I don’t even know who the Rep candidate is. Many years we didn’t even a Rep candidate for US Rep.

The GOP worked hard to undermine Trump and his agenda. I will never forgive them for that.

The GOP is NOT a conservative party in any way, shape or form.

I wish there was an alternative to vote for. The only reason many people vote for the GOP is that they’re not Democrats. If not for that what reasons would there be to vote for the weak and feckless Republicans?
