New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) announced that roughly 9,000 city workers have been placed on unpaid leave for declining to comply with a coronavirus vaccine mandate that took effect Monday.
The Associated Press reports: About 9 in 10 city workers covered by the mandate have gotten vaccinated and there have been no disruptions to city services as a result of staffing shortages, de Blasio told reporters at his daily news briefing. New York has more than 300,000 city employees. Firehouses remained open and sanitation workers made an extra pickup on Sunday to ensure trash wouldn’t pile up, the mayor said.

NOW would be a good time for a BLM “peaceful protest” to break out in all of the city.
Clearly they’re not unions. If they were, they’d ALL walk out on strike. “If some can’t work, none will work.”
The number was 30,000 last week, I am guessing most of them caved. Sheep.
Its sad if there are only 3% (9,000/300,000) resisting. I expected a much higher figure.
This begs the question....why was NYC paying 9000 unnecessary employees?

Yet as of this weekend 25 firehouse were closed because firefighters stayed home and the trash is piling up in Staten Island...but the obedient left wing media spouts the lies of a criminal mayor.
It’ll pile up worse than when the MOB had the unions go on strike that time.

I didn't. These people are highly paid and have huge pensions coming. I expected most to give in to the mandates. It's pretty easy for some to sit behind a keyboard and tell others they should make the sacrifice, one that the keyboard warriors wouldn't make themselves.
That’s the part that baffles me.
Big city employees have strong unions.
Get something for those high dues.

I have two nephews who are NYPD. One is married and just bought a house- he got vaxed last minute.
The other has said he will go to Florida and take up Desantis on his offer before he gets vaxed. He got the CCP virus in mid 2020 while on the job, had moderate symptoms and went back to work after a two week quarantine.
There is no Law in New York City, it's a Mob Rule City since Tammany Hall.

if 9 out of 10 got vaccined, that leaves 10% of 300,000 still not vaccinated which is 30,000
Correct. Kaiser Wilhelm Deblasio and his cronies wouldn't be freaking out over 9,000. I wouldn't trust a number coming from Tammany Hall nor the Propaganda Media.
