What looked like a draw for control of the House of Delegates turned into an apparent Republican victory with the defeat of Del. Lashrecse Aird, D-Petersburg, who had appeared to narrowly win re-election over GOP newcomer Kim Taylor.
Instead, Taylor took a late lead in what appears to be an upset victory over Aird, as the battle for a House majority swung back and forth Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning with unofficial results subject to canvassing by local electoral boards to determine final winners.
House Minority Leader Todd Gilbert, R-Shenandoah, declared victory with a statement released at 1:40 a.m.
“Virginia voters made an historic statement, delivering a clear rebuke of the failed policies of the last two years and electing Republicans up and down the ballot," Gilbert said. "In addition to electing Glenn Youngkin, Winsome Sears, and Jason Miyares [to statewide offices], voters have given Republicans a majority in the House of Delegates."

As a resident of Virginia (but in the Communist enclave of Fairfax County), this is great news! We still elected the mentally ill Helmert (abortion until birth) as a delegate from Fairfax. But otherwise GREAT news for Virginia!!
Obama, Biden, Stacy Abrams, Kameltoe only pissed off independents.

Terry was an awful candidate, but regardless of how bad he was you can bet that a lot of congressional democrats in moderate districts are looking for the lifeboats on the SS Pelosi/Schumer today.
Hard to imagine a night that could have been worse for Biden/Pelosi/Schumer than this one and the fact that NJ is still in play is a bonus.
The Communist Democrats were prepared and hit the ground running two years ago.
The new Republican majority should do the same to undo damage by the communists, and to put forward programs and policies that actually benefit all of the voters in Virginia.
There is a massive disconnect on media coverage of Confederate statues vs. reality. They act like 99% oppose them, with only a handful of rednecks in support. I can't think of any other issue where the majority supports one thing, but the press reporting is this level of lopsided in the other direction.

They will immediately start making plans for how to win back the house after the next time they lose it.
Wonder how many more House Dems will be ‘retiring’ after that shellacking last night in VA? About a dozen have already called it quits. They know what’s coming in ‘22.
