Millions of people living in the Midwestern region of the U.S. received their first blizzard warnings of the season on Thursday, NBC News reported.
Parts of northeastern South Dakota and western Minnesota were issued blizzard warnings on Thursday. Both areas are part of “Blizzard Alley,” according to NBC News.
November blizzards are a rarity; the last time there was a blizzard warning in November was in 2016 in South Dakota, NBC News noted.

Record lows set in every state but Hawaii. It snowed in Miami and Homestead and Freeport, Bahamas. The Ohio River froze. Lake Erie had already frozen by Dec. 14, contributing to one of the greatest blizzards of the Last Century late January 1977.
That was a cold winter for sure.
I was driving a full size cargo van and had to string a blanket across the inside behind the front seats. Otherwise everytime I stopped the cold air would spill forward.
