A "problematic" statue of Theodore Roosevelt outside the American Museum of Natural History in New York City that has been criticized for symbolizing colonialism and racism has found a new home, more than a year after the city announced it will be removed.
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library said Friday it has agreed to take the statue of the former president, which has stood on the steps of the museum since 1940, for a long-term loan....
...The statue is considered "problematic" due to its composition, the library said. The piece depicts Roosevelt on horseback, while Native American and African figures walk alongside him....

I think you’re confusing Teddy and FDR.
LOL! Try reading a history book sometime.
The piece depicts Roosevelt on horseback, while Native American and African figures walk alongside him.
Hmmmm....
Why do I look at the statue and think he is guiding them into the 20th century?
Perhaps an acceptable and historically accurate replacement statue group could be contrived that has an Indian owning a Black as a slave and torturing a White captive. No, that would likely be considered so accurate as to be provocative.
And I was sort of correct:
etails.

What did the artists and planners intend?

June 2020 update: The Museum has requested that the Equestrian Statue be moved. Read the full statement.
Even in early sketches, the sculpture always depicted Roosevelt on a horse, with pistols and hunting gear, a picture of strength and vigor. But why the two other men were included is unclear.
With their impassive faces and rifles at their sides, the African and Native figures are unnamed. They are seemingly not individuals at all, but symbols. Yet, symbols of what?
The architect of the memorial specified a “heroic group” of three men, while other sources at the time describe the two men with Roosevelt as gun bearers. The sculptor wrote that the two men were guides and could be seen to stand for “Roosevelt’s friendliness to all races.”
According to the museum’s website, Fraser said the statue could be seen to represent Roosevelt’s “friendliness to all races,” but he envisioned the two figures as guides standing in for “the two continents of Africa and America.”
It should be “problematic” for the critics to live in this free country.
Everything is problematic to assholes.

lol..yes!!
Regards,
Yeah its problematic because they’re all getting along with a white guy
One was a progressive. One was a socialist. What’s the difference?
The irony is that for once the progs have a case. Teddy Roosevelt was the closest thing we have had to a white supremacist president. He was no conservative hero and people should educate themselves about his policies before defending him. This statue is sort of typical propaganda of the time.
“ One was a progressive. One was a socialist. What’s the difference?”
Teddy Roosevelt:
Presidential term: September 14, 1901 – March 4, 1909
Party: Republican Party
Franklin Roosevelt:
Presidential term: March 4, 1933 – April 12, 1945
Party: Democratic Party
Any other questions?
Maybe they’re guiding him to the 1400s.
The whole thing is back asswards so, there’s that...
I will never set foot in that museum again.
I know!
Amazing, isn’t it?
