“Blood is not thicker than morality,” radio host and author Laura Schlessinger once noted. This comes to mind when pondering how Fox News’ normally astute Tucker Carlson, who generally exhibits more philosophical depth than is the television news norm, stumbled a bit last Tuesday night.
At issue was a Tucker Carlson Tonight segment about TV host Chris Cuomo’s “indefinite suspension” from CNN for using his press connections to help his brother, ex-NY governor Andrew Cuomo, craft a defense against the sexual misconduct allegations that ended his political career.
Carlson had much to say that was true: Chris Cuomo is a buffoonish narcissist whose greatest trespasses were far worse than what ultimately scuttled his TV show, and CNN is infested with people who’d denounce their own mothers for career advancement. Yet the host also said, while trying to lend Cuomo’s actions some perspective, that his behavior amounts to “what you do with brothers, even the loathsome ones: You help them when they need it — it’s called loyalty.”

Carlson then discussed what he called “the most important rules in life.” “Your first obligation is to your family. Your first obligation is not to the state, it’s not to a political party, it’s not to Jeff Zucker or some creepy billionairess at the Atlantic magazine; it’s not even to your own career,” he explained. “Your most basic obligation is to the people you’re related to; when they need your help, no matter who they are — even if you’re the governor of a state — even if they’re horrible people, you help them, anyway, ‘cause it’s your family.”
“Chris Cuomo may be an idiot, and he is,” the host summed up, “but he understands that. What a thing to be fired for.”

Tucker really booted this one.
What Chris Cuomo did is borderline illegal witness tampering or victim intimidation.
Chris Cuomo’s behavior violates journalism standards......in the guise of brotherhood.
“It is unethical for a journalist to use their position, contacts, and influence to help a family member or friend involved in an investigation by law enforcement,” says Rebecca Aguilar, president of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ).
Adding, “The SPJ Code of Ethics clarifies the rules: Avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived, minimize harm and be accountable and transparent.”
They have to reach a long way to pillory Tucker Carlson. Its not a stumble. Its the truth.
Plus Cuomo was fired yesterday**( Saturday 4th December), terminated for good.Cuomo paid full price for his family loyalty.The Italian community will reward him.
Its not a crime.

Its the Commie DNC mob battling the Facist Italian mob and winning. Thanks to the State of New York commie supporting Attorney General. This is sometihg Tucker could not say on air, and so he speaks of “loyalty.” Its safe talk for “La Cosa Nostra, “ and “ Mi Familia.”
Thats what it is.

NICE TAKE Tucker is correct to be a bit touched by the fact, that in a world of cynical, malignant narcissism, Cuomo was finally brought down by an uncharacteritic act of semi decency.
Many of those women are liars and are trying to nozz in on the 15 minute fame and possible settlement money.
In my view, Tucker was on the right track in voicing support for family members through thick and thin. Where he erred, was assuming that either of the Cuomo brothers had some sort of moral compass driving them to proper behavior. It is right to support your family. It’s not right to break moral and ethical barriers doing it. The Cuomos fell far outside that barrier.
Remember, Tucker {the new savior of all things, conservative} is friendly with hunter biden, worked at cnnmsnbc, was a member of the DC circuit for decades before his latest conversion to conservatism, and still has many friends at opposing networks.
I like tucker, but it is hard to wash the swamp slime off of your own scales.
If the new owner of cnn claims that they going to do "real news" and offers tucker a job as the lead guy at multiple times his current salary, how long would it take tucker's lawyer to break his fox contract and jump ship?

Tucker was trolling. The beauty of this situation is heels are wounded in any case. CNN and Cuomo are damaged whether.
Complete nonsense. Like the Kennedys protected Ted after his little accident? Like Joe and Hunter protect each other because they're father and son; son and father?

Carlson jumped right over abuse of power to help a public official lie, cheat, intimidate and obstruct justice, If Chris wanted to "help his brother", he should have done what the rsst of us would have .... given Andy a shoulder to lean on and a check to help pay his legal fees.

Chris should have resigned if he wanted to support his brother. Then, he could have done whatever he wanted to.
The point is Chris was fired........not for his media ethics violation.......but for what HE himself insists was brotherly love.
Yeah, and his friend Hunter Biden too...
Have lost a LOT of respect for this media personality. Beginning to wonder which is more sleezy, the media or the political class. They have wallowed in the same muck together for so long I guess there is currently no difference.
He didn’t have to have his brother on his show Tucker.
Tucker WAS friendly with Hunter, not anymore, he’s discussed it on his show.
Abuse of his position to intimidate and obstruct IS an ethics violation.... if not illegal. Sharing genetic material with the person you're intimidating and obstructing for does not make it right.
Please tell me you understand this.
