Lee Harvey Oswald met with a KGB agent just two months before the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, according to newly unsealed confidential documents stemming from JFK’s murder.
The CIA memos, part of a trove of nearly 1,500 documents released Wednesday by the National Archives and Records Administration, also disclose that an anonymous tipster warned US embassy officials in Australia a year earlier that Kennedy would be assassinated by the Soviet Union for a $100,000 bounty.
But the tip was never passed on to the CIA.
“Cabled to Canberra asking full details of the telephone conversation of 23 November and the call made 15 October 1962, a 1964 memo said. “It should be noted that CIA had not previously known of the 1962 telephone call.”
The records include newly revealed details of Kennedy’s death — but fall short of resolving decades-old speculation about the case.
Among the revelations in the files was a meeting and follow-up phone call bewteen Oswald and a Soviet operative before JFK was shot in Dallas.
“According to an intercepted phone call in Mexico City, Lee Oswald was in the Soviet Embassy there on 23 September and spoke with Consul Valeriy Vladimirovich,” the document said.
“Oswald called the Soviet Embassy in 1 October, identifying himself by name and speaking broken Russian, stating the above and asking the guard who answered the phone whether there was ‘anything concerning the telegram to Washington,’” read the memo from then-acting CIA Chief Tennent Bagley.
The documents include a transcript of the Oct. 1 call.
“Hello, this [is] Lee Oswald speaking,” he said. “I was at your place last Saturday and spoke to a consul, and they said that they’d send a telegram to Washington, so I wanted to find out if you anything new. But I don’t remember the

The KGB agent was probably an FBI or CIA asset.
And why has this report be held back to us? Now JB is continuing to hold the complete report back to, COVID, yeah, he’ll use that this time, who knows what event in the future will cause it to be held back.

At this point that pool is so completely fouled with mis/dis-information, conjecture, hearsay, and outright lies that NOBODY should have and basis to believe anything that comes out of it.
“Who shot JFK?” may be known.
“Who orchestrated the assassination of JFK?” is a question the answer to which has, at this point, been permanently removed from human access.
We thought we knew. We conjectured about knowing.
But we didn’t and don’t really know. And now we cannot EVER know.
It’s a dry hole. Move on.
Essentially there is not a US government agency that has any credibility at this point in our current society. All have been caught lying, breaking the law and no one is punished. For all the yap about the rule of law the reality is we are a first world country who’s government is just as corrupt and dirty as the worst countries in Africa or South America.

Yes, this is old news, except that the CIA was monitoring the Soviet embassy in Mexico, and produced a photo of “Oswald” visiting the embassy, and the photo was of man who very clearly was not Lee Harvey Oswald.
Actually it’s the same “fake Oswald”, since this is just a newly released transcript of the conversation that impersonator had with the Soviets.

Right. A communist nut who at 15 was a member of Civil Air Patrol, a known CIA recruitment vehicle, in a troop headed by a known CIA asset, and then joined the Marines and was given special training by the DIA (according to Kerry Thornley), then given clearance to be stationed at a top radar facility monitoring top secret U2 spy flights, all while telling everyone who would listen that he loved Communism. Then he defected to Russia, married a Russian daughter of a KGB colonel, and was allowed to come back, bringing the Russian woman with him, with only one quick debriefing session and zero follow-up or monitoring by law enforcement.
Sounds kosher to me.
That still does not answer a long-argued quandry:
One shot from the back through the neck moves the body forward.
Another shot, reportedly, from the back through the head, moves the body rearward.
That is not physically possible.
Some folks even suggest the 2nd shot head wound was perpetrated by Ms. Jackie O. herself, and use the Zapruder film to back them up!
Well put. Anyone in Soviet intelligence and diplomatic service would have assumed Oswald was a provocateur leading them into a trap. Such assumptions were proved correct. The parallel question to yours is whether Oswald did that by being stupid and oblivious, or with the encouragement/connivance of the CIA, or through some other personal agenda.

Pay attention to the Altgens photo taken seconds before the first shot which shows LBJ ducking below seat level in the car he was being driven in.
