all of those theories are plausible.
Was Oswald on the 6th floor of the depository-yes.
Did he shoot at Kennedy- probably.
Were there other shooters (the grassy knoll, the bridge)-quite possibly.
It has been said that LBJ hated JFK and wanted the Oval Office for himself, and ordered the hit.
The Mafia wanted him gone- Bobby Kennedy was going after organized crime, and he was sent a message to lay off.
Any of these are possible.
Personally, I think Oswald had a hand in it somehow- either he fired at Kennedy or was set up.I also believe that there was at least one other shooter, from the front that fired the head shot, and the “Magic Bullet?” Well, I don’t believe in Unicorns, either.
In any “evidence” provided in this report did they show LHO
practicing or sighting rifle in? I heard/saw the rifle was delivered but no “handling” by LHO.

The question on my post #68 was based on reports I read on his time in Russia. What I read, was he had to join a gun club to shoot gun as he was not Russian. They kicked him out, of the club because he was wild on his range times, also was bad handling guns and hitting targets(?). Even if he was proficient with the gun he would need range time to sight it in.
That was a great episode................
As much as I think LBJ is a corrupt scumbag who isn’t fit to be dogcatcher, much less the President, I have my doubts about him ordering the hit. I’m extremely doubtful he’d learn about LHO’s involvement in the assassination three days after it occurred if he had ordered the hit, for example. It also doesn’t help that the only evidence claiming LBJ ordered the hit was literally manufactured as part of a KGB disinformation campaign.
As far as the Mafia, the problem is that the Mafia would probably be smart enough to realize rubbing the President of the United States out while we’re embattled with the Soviets and their proxies is a terrible idea that would hurt them more than help them (to say very little about how they would end up having the full force of the law come down upon them ESPECIALLY if their role was exposed. There’s a reason why one of the biggest taboos in the Mafia, to such an extent that it’s deemed an immediately executable offense, is killing a cop.). Even Al Capone, contrary to what the Untouchables movie stated, was smart enough to realize ordering a hit on the cops was going to end very badly for him and narrowly avoided doing so. Besides, if they didn’t try to have FDR assassinated for essentially destroying their liquor business by repealing the amendment, it’s unlikely they’ll try to kill JFK, not while he’s in office anyway (once he’s out, I’m pretty sure they’ll try to assassinate him in their usual manners, which usually entails making their deaths look like an accident). And the Mafia isn’t exactly friendly with the Soviets, anyways. Heck, they didn’t even like the Nazis before them.
The Communist Russians, on the other hand, they’d actually have the most to gain regarding this bit. Aside from the fact that they suspiciously started a KGB disinformation op immediately after JFK was assassinated (almost similar to the Katyn coverup in fact, which until the 1990s everyone bought into the idea that the Nazis caused it), they also would have the most motive, and are probably banking on LBJ being too much of a feckless coward in directly confronting them to get away with it scot-free (heck, LBJ was shown to be too scared of even the slightest possibility of going into nuclear war to even consider mining the harbor even when the Joint Chiefs assured him there won’t be any Soviet or Chinese “overreactions”. You REALLY think he’s going to expose the Soviets as being responsible for assassinating Kennedy, ESPECIALLY after the close call at Cuba two years before?). I know Ion Mihai Pacepa firmly believed this, as did Markus Wolfe. And those guys would know, working as proxy agents for the Soviets, before defecting in Pacepa’s case. And let’s not forget that the Soviet Russians aren’t exactly stable people either, perfectly willing to engineer a war that probably would have them end up going two or more steps back from their goals like when Lenin immediately opted to invade Germany before narrowly being stopped at Poland with Europe getting a taste of the true brutal nature of the Bolsheviks. They most certainly would have risked nuclear war. Heck, they even lionized Che Guevara in another disinformation op shortly after his death in Bolivia DESPITE his nearly causing World War III. There’s even evidence that Khrushchev’s getting cold feet during Cuba was partly the reason why he got overthrown, and certainly was one of the final straws regarding China and Che’s support for the Soviets. It also fits in with why Jack Ruby suspiciously developed cancer shortly after his arrest. If there was any restraints from them directly backing Oswald during the assassination attempt, it was solely because a KGB assassin got caught in Germany with extremely sensitive materials when he was about to do a hit, including a medal that had personally been awarded to him by Khrushchev, thus forcing him to try and abort it to save face only for Oswald to ignore the order to stand down.
I wouldn’t say it’s total BS. I know Ion Mihai Pacepa certainly stated very similar stuff back when he was still alive, so I’d have plenty of reason to believe this.
Thanks for your comments, you raise a lot of good points concerning JFK and LBJ that I haven’t thought about, and brought up some names I wasn’t aware of.
As far as the Mafia idea, I’ve heard the theory that Sam Giancana was behind the hit on Kennedy because Kennedy was after Marilyn Monroe and Giancana had the hots for her. I can’t remember how I came across that, but what you say makes sense in overriding that tale. Fascinating stuff. I’ve got some education’ to do…🙂
