Cold war TO&E for a soviet tank regiment was 95 in three 31 tank battalions.

If Omicron terrifies them, can you imagine how they would react to bullets?

The Brits are already experts at it. They surrendered Singapore to a Japanese Force 1/3 their size. This upended conventional military thinking that believed the attacker needed a 3 to 1 numerical advantage.

They also bravely ran away from the French flank at Dunkirk, and went home to tell everyone about the French.

Both were probably justified moves, but the point is, but for the channel, England would have had the French occupation experience, complete with a British Vichy government. So they really should tamp down the French surrender meme.

Turn this around: Is Russia willing to cease existence as a nation in order to steal the rest of Ukraine?

And if you’ll bend over for nuclear blackmail over Ukraine then what won’t you bend over for?

Seriously, the regime in Moscow has openly talked about taking back Alaska. Would you let it go or would you want to fight?

A shame they missed “I’ll be home for Christmas” by a few days. Would have been more dramatic. Does “during Kwanzaa” count? Didn’t think so.

Classic post.

Does London Mayor Khan allow that to be read, even in private? And wearing a mask?

Everyone has great sport about the French soldier in WWII. But in those 6 weeks, they lost more men than we did in the entire Vietnam war or Korean War.

~60,000 killed
200,000 wounded
12,000 missing

Their generals were poor, and they were outclassed by new tactics, but they were not cowards.

Wait until Iran gets their nukes. They’ll use them offensively no matter how many soft-speaking diplomats are sent to them.

It’s something kids should know.

Yet for all the supposed education that goes on today’s kids know next to nothing at all.

Saw a video this morning where a self-proclaimed teacher was asked “What country is Venice, Italy in?”

She answered, “Paris?”

The German Empire was “western civilization”? State socialism sanctioned by the Kaiser?

Is there any nation in Europe today that doesn't practice "the Kaiser's" state socialism?

Indeed, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the U.S., and Israel all emulate the Kaiser's welfare state.

Don't single out the Kaiser's Germany for blame. Today the entire West practices state socialism. Charles Dickens's England is long past.

No, it’s far better to stop the scumbag Russian thieves on the Dneiper than it is to have to kick them out of Berlin again.

You want us to send ships and troops into the Black Sea? And then fight a war in Russia's backyard?

The Russian Army is not able to field many pure tank regiments or even mechanized brigades right now. They lack the trained manpower and sufficient modern equipment for it. So they send in picked battalion-strength units to back up local rebels who do most of the actual fighting while the Russians occupy and pretend they aren’t actually participating in the war.

In the last war, the Ukrainians pulled off an actual operational tank offensive in brigade strength.

“The French took massive casualties in World War One”

I looked that up a while a ago...they were barely out of WW1 and the Spanish Flu when Germany started up again. Things should be looked at in context.

I’m pointing out where it started.

And ignoring the EU’s role in this, never mind the Kaiser’s (really starting with Bismarck), is ignoring the history of the spread of this ideology.

Something wrong with that? You saying that the USA can’t win a war?
I can not recommend to your notice measures for the fulfillment of our duties to the rest of the world without again pressing upon you the necessity of placing ourselves in a condition of complete defense and of exacting from them the fulfillment of their duties toward us. The United States ought not to indulge a persuasion that, contrary to the order of human events, they will forever keep at a distance those painful appeals to arms with which the history of every other nation abounds.

There is a rank due to the United States among nations which will be withheld, if not absolutely lost, by the reputation of weakness. If we desire to avoid insult, we must be able to repel it; if we desire to secure peace, one of the most powerful instruments of our rising prosperity, it must be known that we are at all times ready for war.

— George Washington, 5th Annual Address to Congress
Not to rush in blindly of course, but to continue to cultivate the reputation that Brandon branded on us is folly and destructive to our national security.
