Tom Daschle: Remembering a man who wouldn't stay down
The hill ^ | 01/08/2022 | Tom Daschle

Posted on 01/08/2022 7:29:50 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Harry Reid came from a town where you couldn’t afford to stay down.

When he was just 11 years old, Harry followed his father hundreds of feet underground into the mines below Searchlight, Nev., where he would pan for gold and keep his dad company as the older man pounded through nearly impenetrable rock. He spent his childhood one cave-in or errant blasting cap away from becoming a fatality of those mines, as his father’s brother and a neighbor had become just a few years before. But Harry always came back up.

Nothing in Daschle’s tribute about Harry being a bagman for the Vegas mafia?

Harry was so useful to them being their interfacing with the local authorities they even gave him a nickname - Mr Cleanface.

Lucky for hairy no errant blasting caps went off. Giving us what we ended up with years later. Oh, and tom, probably not a lot of “panning” going on deep in those mines. Extract the ore and send it topside for processing. Still stoopid after all these years.

Our civilization would be much better if most people who “wouldn’t stay down” would have just stayed down.

Reid is only one example.

I miss Rush. He was 100% correct about both of these worthless politicians.

Am I being redundant?

HARRY GETS OBAMACARE PASSED BUT IT COST TAXPAYERS $4.3B—AKA THE bag lady’s “Louisiana Purchase”

LA Sen Mary Landrieu opposed OBAMACARE until the bill was rewritten to send a $300,000,000 payment to Medicaid for her home state. When two pages were added to the bill to place $300 million in Louisiana’s Medicaid system, she changed her web page in order to reflect her support of the program.....AKA the “Louisiana Purchase”.

when then ML Harry sent the bill up, it had “A typographical error” resulting in $4.3 billion in additional funds for Medicaid for Louisiana Landrieu. The presumed bag lady to buy votes was also called “a high-priced prostitute”.

On November 21, 2009, Landrieu voted with fifty-nine other Senators to bring the health care bill up for debate.

On December 8, 2009, she voted against the Nelson–Hatch–Casey amendment which proposed to ban federal funding for private plans that covered elective abortions but would have allowed individuals to purchase separate individual riders that would cover abortions.[34]

Prior to a concession of $300 million being added to the bill, Landrieu responded to a question on popular support of the public option, and asserted that the option has popular support because “when people hear ‘public option’ they hear ‘free health care’. Everybody wants free health care. Everybody wants health care they don’t have to pay for.”[37]

Landrieu voted for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (known as “Obamacare”) in December 2009. In September 2013, Landrieu voted to restore funding for the ACA that House Republicans had eliminated in their version of the funding bill.

She is no longer a Senator.

I threw up last night in anticipation of reading this article praising Harry Reid. . . So knowing in advance that if I actually read it, I would not be able to keep my breakfast down, I eschewed actually reading it. I was satisfied with the anticipatory reliving of my late night snack that so disagreed with me…

PS, Tom, your ignorance panties are showing… you don’t pan for gold in hard rock gold mining, you extract the gold using chemical methods from the ore, after crushing the rock, unless you find pure gold veins. You MIGHT pan some from tail dregs OUTSIDE the mine. Panning is used in Placer and sluice gold mining, where the gold has washed down in the sand and gravel in streams and been deposited and the lighter sediment must be washed away leaving the heavier elements in the bottom of a catch basin pan or rocker pan.

Now, Harry’s father MIGHT have used the kid to carry the gold ore rock out of his hard rock mine where it could be broken down farther… often the miners used stupid stubborn, burros, donkeys or mules for this mindless task. Must be where the symbol of an ASS got adopted as the mascot of the Democrat idiocy. Harry ALWAYS was the spittin’ image of the quintessential braying donkey’s ass.
