Let the unassimilated Russian colonists outside of Russia return to Russia with their language and their Russian passports.

A kleptocracy like Ukraine stands for freedom that must be defended?

Hey Wilber.

Look at the logistics. Look at the EU (and our) dependance on Russian Nat Gas.

Look at our military.

We can not stop Russia. We (NATO and the US) need to take a huge step back and either build up or retrench further west.

If that doesn’t work Wilber, you and your kids first.

Incorrect. The Biden family has financial ties in Ukraine that go back to the late 1990’s.

“ return to Russia”
You mean, the Russia of their ancestors?

Wait…they’re already there

Wilber is free to buy himself a rifle and a plane ticket. I’m sure they’ll be thrilled to throw him on the front lines.

Ukraine matters because of the Budapest memorandum. In exchange for surrendering its nuclear weapons, Ukraine’s territory and political independence were guaranteed. Confirming that denuclearization is a foolish choice makes the world more dangerous.

I’ve known people in Belarus since visiting in 1995. The CIA doesn’t need to do anything to get those people to hate the dictator Lukashenko. He does a fine job of it on his own.

Russia also needs to get out of the lands they stole from Japan, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, and China.

Actually, European wars have, as a rule. Spanish American war gave the US temporary hegemony in Cuba and the territory of Puerto Rico. WW I ended in victory. WW II in victory. Cold War with defeat of communism. It’s Middle-Eastern and Far Eastern wars that tend to go sideways, with the one exception being the defeat of Japan in WW II, which to this date is yielding dividends in peaceful trade and peace, and a nifty military base.

Do we turn our backs on Ukraine, just as we did Czechoslovakia and Hungary in years past?

Afghanistan is the more accurate parallel - where a feminist-dominated US government just relegated an entire country’s female population to 6th Century slavery without a backward glance.

Any promises made to Ukraine would not be worth the social media messages the State Department issued them through. This US government cannot guarantee freedom to its own citizens, let alone any other country’s.

“I recall at the time commenting that we needed to tone it down, and even extend a welcoming hand to Russia and help them modernize and become a valued ally. Helping Russia transition from communism to freedom and a market based economy wasn’t just in Russia’s best interest, it was also in our best interest.”

Russia will never truly transition to a modern state until they actually dump the Communist party instead of letting them continue to run the country into the ground. We can’t do that for them; Russians will have to eventually do that for themselves.

I like Ukraine.

Check out Luba’s youtube channel. She’s a little horsey but cute. Let’s send her an airline ticket and help he get a work visa and call it a day.
