Victoria and Albert were also a love match. It wasn't unheard of.

Phillips uncle was Constantine I was the King of Greece, Philip’s maternal grandfather, Prince Louis of Battenberg, was German so right after WWII, Phillip was viewed with suspicion. His family lost Greece during the Greco-Turkish War.

Which Greco-Turkish War are you talking about?
In the one fought 1919-1922 the Greeks couldn’t keep the Ottoman territory given to them by the Allies. They didn’t lose mainland Greece.

Victoria and Albert were a famous love match-several books written about that one-I can see where Phillip’s political family connections would have not been desirable at that time in history, either-it would suck to be a British royal-even now...
