2022 Texas Primaries
wapoo ^ | 3/1/22

Texas is the first test of former president Donald Trump’s endorsement power in the 2022 midterm cycle. Trump is backing at least 30 candidates in the conservative state, many of them Republican incumbents who are likely to prevail anyway. Gov. Greg Abbott, who is seeking a third term and has the former president’s endorsement, is likely to triumph, though it’s possible another Trump-backed candidate, scandal-plagued Attorney General Ken Paxton, could be pushed into a May 24 runoff with George P. Bush and other candidates. A third statewide Republican with Trump’s blessing, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, also seems likely to win his primary Tuesday.

We need more spice in Texas. That’s the reason for the primary challenges. 8 year incumbents-that’s enough.

Turnout on the Republican side is said to be astronomical today as well as in early voting. That means LOTS of Democrats are voting in the Republican primary (they have little to choose from in their own primaries), so if you see any funny-looking outcomes tonight keep that in mind.

Also, if it turns out that something like 7 million voters participate on the Republican side and only 3 million on the Democrat side, it doesn’t mean “zOmG!!! TeXus sTAyZ ReDd forEvErrr!!!” for the reason already mentioned above.

“. . . scandal plagued . . .” Paxton? Really?

There are serious allegations by a so-called “whistleblower.” It’s yet to be seen what the facts are.

Russia! Russia! Russia! is still fresh in my mind.

I don’t think a Dem is seriously going to wait in line for two hours to mess with the Republicans. Early vote or mail in, maybe. As Republicsns in Texas, we used to have to do this to get the most conservative Dim elected, because it was a chore to get a Republican elected.

No charges yet. For years. Lots of trouble making, and Noise, a disgruntled former whino, and old complaints.

Paxton is allright. So is Gomert, but probably too quiet or too late an entry?

"scandal-plagued Attorney General Ken Paxton"

The Washington Post believes it still has the power to determine what is a scandal, and what is not.

These so-called scandals are lawfare by Democrat county prosecutors against a popular and effective State Attorney General.

Ken Paxton has been one of the most effective Conservative Attorney Generals in the nation.

That is why he is constantly being attacked progressive prosecutors and the dominant, progressive media.

“... we used to have to do this to get the most conservative Dim elected, because it was a chore to get a Republican elected.”

Those were the days. :-)

Still, I wouldn’t underestimate the amount of effort that dirty Democrats are willing to put into trying to “legally” rig an election by simply standing in a line — as if they have anything better to do, such as work — or dropping a ballot into a box.

I voted for Paxton. Ava Guzman was too good to be true and Paxton revealed she is pro CRT

>Democrats are voting in the Republican primary<

I know it was agreed to long ago, but why did they do it? Rs can’t vote in the Dim primaries, but they can vote in Rs primaries.

This pisses me off to no end!
