Unilever PLC said it will stop its advertising and media spending in Russia, as well as suspending all imports and exports of its products into and out of the country.
“We will not invest any further capital into the country nor will we profit from our presence in Russia,” Chief Executive Alan Jope said in a statement. The company doesn’t break out its earnings in the region.
Kraft Heinz Co. separately said it is suspending all new investments in Russia, as well as all exports and imports of Kraft Heinz products into and out of Russia.
Kraft Heinz sells ketchup and other condiments in Russia. The company doesn't disclose sales or profit for the country, but its exposure is relatively small, according to regulatory filings. The U.S. and Canada make up about 80% of its sales.
Unilever and other major food companies that do business in Russia, such as Mondelez International Inc., Nestle SA, Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo Inc., have been under pressure from investors and consumers to cut ties with the country in light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

I have no doubt that Russia has the know how to create their own substitutes.
You can’t cancel another country without repercussions.
