A former sniper for the Canadian military known as one of the deadliest snipers in the world has travelled to Ukraine to help in the war against Russia, CBC News reported.
The sniper – who was given the nickname Wali in Afghanistan – was a soldier with the Royal 22nd Regiment.
Several days ago he responded to a call for help from Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Zelensky and during the night crossed the Polish border into Ukrainian territory.
Wali told the CBC that he made the trip with three other former Canadian soldiers.
He said that the Ukrainians they met “were so happy to have us. It's like we were friends right away."
Wali previously fought with Kurdish forces against ISIS in northern Iraq.

“Well, that might explain why the Boers couldn’t pull it off. Kitchener didn’t care how he looked, so long as he won.”
That was the Second Boer War. The Boers won the First Boer War, about 20 years earlier.
“As good as he was, he was a piker compared to Finland’s Simo Hayha.”
Sent an entire artillery battalion after him. He was the dude.
What an idiot. By announcing this he put a target on his head.
Mercenary kill for pay.
“And Ukraine cannot subdue Russia.”
Russia can.
“Whats with this “We can’t wait to tell things left unsaid” mentality! There was a time when idiots could be shot for running their mouths.”
Probably because it’s propaganda.
Silencers, suppressors, and subsonic ammunition are not worth the trade off for range and accuracy.
“He’d better hope he’s not captured.”
Good point. Even thought our media screams War Crime every single day, the Russians are not hampered by ridiculous rules of engagement like our Soldiers were in Afghanistan. However, Trump did relax those rules, which was a great help until Xiden was installed to ensure we lost the war.
The secret to Canadian snipers being able to shoot exceptionally long distances is because they use a 4 man team. The shooter, the spotter, and two guys who sweep the air in front of the bullet with tiny brooms.
That was cute.
Thermal imaging works. But it works against you, too. It’s hard to hide from.
Exactly. Hopefully the “media” won’t be holding a Welcome Parade for these Canadian guys.
For some reason this reminds me of when Geraldo reviera drew the plan for what the unit he was embedded with was about to do in the sand in iraq on live TV........what a freakin’ dumbass.
SMH
So about those convoy conscripts sleeping outside of their deep freeze refrigerators at night time... this is why they don’t.
Any truth to the rumors obama employed snipers
Yup
i don’t think i can do it....
but if it was chinese kids invading taiwan.... i probably can talk myself into shooting a few.
I did some research when I saw a post about 2 Russian generals being killed.
An Army sniper typically shoots between roughly 1/3rd to 3/4ths of a mile. The figures I saw were measured in meters. There are 1609 meters in a mile. Another article about SWAT teams indicated that the average was around 50 meters.
My husband had a friend who was a sniper in Vietnam. He had 76 kills. He was a strange guy. He also played excellent classical Spanish guitar and had studied with a master in a South American country. Eventually he moved to a South American country to work for a mining company. He could not deal with the post Vietnam attitude here.
Another saying on your theme.
If Russia doesn’t win it looses.
If Ukraine doesn’t loose, it wins.
