The reason the letter specifies Russia, while not excluding other foreign lobbies, is because there is actual documentation from Sea Change’s tax filings that specify funds received from Russian sources via offshore institutions, etc.
Iran is not our ally, by the way, it is Russia’s ally, and has been Russia’s ally since the Communist-Islamist overthrow of the Shah in the late 1970s.
The head of the green movement in the US for many years was none other than Gorbachev, who moved out of Russia to... California. Which just happens to be where Sea Change is based, and where Russia used to have a very active consulate.

Congress did an investigation of green groups on Russia’s payroll, in 2018 IIRC. Was actually a very good report. And yes, Sierra Club is bought.
